Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used this backpack not for hiking, but for carrying my computer, notes and other things for classes in Boston. I really like that it has comfortable shoulder straps and a spring-loaded chest strap. When I'm wearing it, It doesn't feel like I have a backpack on at all - the mesh touching my back makes the backpack contour to my back perfectly and keeps it from sweating. Although I haven't used the waist strap much, it is good that it is able to be stashed out of the way. The only downside is that the rigid plastic that keeps the mesh taut takes up a significant amount of space inside the backpack. I can still fit everything I want inside the pack, but it does take up some space. Overall it is one of the best backpacks ever.

These shoes are very comfortable. There is mesh all around the toes that keep your foot from getting overheated, but they are NOT waterproof. Water from small splashes will fall off, but if you get too much water on them, your foot will get wet. For me, this is not a big deal because the shoes are very nice and good looking and I don't splash around in puddles when I walk.

I've used these shoes for a few weeks now, and even though I don't think minimalist shoes are right for me, they have several benefits that I like. First, they have a stiff sole that extends my toes upward slightly to allow my feet to roll forward naturally when walking. Second, the tread is knobby, so they do not slip on slippery surfaces easily. Third, they are very light and I hardly feel like I have shoes on my feet when I walk around.

I'm not sure if you are supposed to do this with minimalist shoes, but when I put a footbed inside the shoe, it made my foot so cramped that I had to take out the footbed. Without the footbed, however, the shoe feels longer and wider than other shoes of that size. Overall I recommend the New Balance MO80 Minimus shoe to those who have slightly wider feet and who like the minimalist style shoe.

I used these shoes to walk on pavement and snow and I have found that they fit to my foot very well and they provide sufficient (stiff) support for walking. Unlike other reviews, I feel that these shoes do not have a good look. I didn't initially notice it when when I ordered them, but since the laces go almost all the way down to the toes, they make the shoe look like bowling shoes. The laces may help the shoe fit better, but they do look slightly silly.

I've used Hestra's heater gloves before skiing in New England, and I absolutely love them. When I start to get cold fingers, they tend to stay cold - unless I use these gloves. The heat is supplied at the fingertips and you can turn up the intensity depending on how cold it is. If it's a coldish day (10 F), I keep them on the lowest setting all the time and then turn them up a notch going up the ski lift. I only use them at the hottest setting if it's really cold (-10 F). If you keep them between the lowest and the medium settings, they will last a full ski day.

Best rain jacket I've ever owned

I use this jacket both on the slopes and walking around on rainy days. It blocks all of the rain very effectively, but it has many other features that I like. The material itself is very stretchy, so it's easy to move around whether I'm skiing or putting a backpack around my shoulders. The hood is big and adjustable, so I can use it over a helmet or without one. The collar zips up nicely high up around your face and is soft where the mouth touches. The sleeves are long enough and big enough to fit over gloves, but they aren't too big. The ends of the sleeves are slightly longer on the pinky side, which helps the coverage, but doesn't really do too much. This is the greatest jacket and I don't have anything bad to say about it!

the ear pieces did not hold on to my head at all. They are really nice glasses, but they don't have any grip to stay on your head. The ear pieces are very flexible, so they don't supply any pressure to the sides of your head to the point where if you bend your head forward, the aviator lenses pull the glasses off your head. If you are looking for aviators, I recommend getting ones with curved ear pieces - not straight.

The best thing about these sunglasses is that they are light and they fit your face better than sunglasses that use normal nose clips. I use these sunglasses when I'm driving and when I'm walking up to the slopes for a day of skiing - any situation that has bright sun. The lenses block out all the bright reflective light especially on a sunny day. I have a big oblong head and these sunglasses still look good on me.
