Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used the Heli 3-Finger for two years as a ski instructor, where working with the littler kids required extra dexterity and a glove that won't make me sweat as I am constantly picking them up and skiing uphill to help them.

Now that I'm no longer instructing and have a chance to get higher up on the mountain more often, I wanted a glove that I could wear in powder and freezing temps. I definitely knew that I wanted Hestra (I've never felt a more reliable glove), so once I saw these I knew it was love at first sight.

I love the 3-finger feature. It keeps my fingers warmer by bunching the three together and allows me to use a zipper, open a beer, or check your phone. The leather is soft to the touch and after applying the included wax, I feel like I can conquer any day on the hill.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought for my parents after all the kids were finally out of the house. We had been using a 4-person tent for so long, but with just the two of them, they wanted something smaller. They had taken my 3-person on a trip to Tennessee with them and decided they liked that size much better. It's a great size, especially if they ever get a dog again.

Pulling these out of the box, you wouldn't expect them to be as warm as they are. They feel very thin, but Polartec fibers do a heck of job giving you that extra boost of insulation.

My one and only gripe (which I admit is petty) is that they're kind of baggy. I sometimes like to wear my long-underwear as leggings at the bar for apres, but these guys make me look kind of frumpy. It is my fault for not looking at the fit (which is slim) and assuming that it would be form-fitting. But, it's definitely not worth returning. They're way too warm for that petty nonsense.

It says that it fits "true to size", but I'd say to size down a half-size. I'm normally a 7 and ordered a 6.5 and they fit perfectly, even with heavy wool socks. With the 7, I'd have way too much extra room.

What the other reviews are saying is true: there's definitely a break in period. Give it at least 5 days to get used to the arch supports and ankle supports. At first, the arch felt like it was in a completely wrong spot on my foot, but the more I wore them, the more they mellowed out. The ankle supports do dig into your achilles at first, but they broke down and softened up after the first couple of days I wore them. And they do scuff super easily, but I like how it looks.

One thing to be weary of is the super deep tread. It's great for walking over ice and snow, but you'll definitely keep mud tucked up there for longer than you (or your white carpets) would normally like. Just remember to either take off the boots before going inside, or scrape your feet for a good minute on the doormat.

All in all, these are are great all-season boot. Especially if you lather them up with some SnoSeal or some other waterproof wax for winter.

No matter what time of year, I always end up freezing when I'm tent camping. My feet go numb and there's no turning them back on. I got this bag because of its 0-degree rating and how many awesome reviews it has (on Backcountry and elsewhere). While it probably won't be until next year (after winter passes) when I can really test it, I've slept in our 50-degree basement more than comfortably. I even got too hot-something that I'm definitely not used to! Can't wait to take this bag out for trips when the snow melts.

My friend had this set-up and after using it all through festival season with her, I had to get one myself. While using my friend's we had to replace the part that attaches to the gas tank, but it was easy enough to find a new one and haven't had any problems since. I love how it packs up so easily and is super easy to clean. So far, it's been great for car camping and using off and on for festival season.

It's hard not to love a man in a broken-in pair of Carhartt's. Especially when they're covered in dust, grease, dirt, or whatever else they got into that day, these Carhartt's represent a hard-working man. Buying Carhartt's for my boyfriend is probably my favorite thing to buy him. They look great, are professional-grade, and practically last forever.

I love my Vans. I grew up wearing them and was disheartened when I moved to Utah, where it snowed it the winter. So, imagine my surprise when I found my favorite looking Vans in a winterized version! I haven't worn them in the snow just yet, but the treated leather is perfect for it. I'm also stoked about the snow tred soles. These shoes are a huge game changer for me.
The ankle is a bit stiff, which I like. But it also has this soft lining so it's not uncomfortable by any means.
Like most Vans for women, they run a little large. I ordered a half size down, but I think I could've gone down a full size down.

Initially bought a small and was swimming in it, so I came back and bought the extra-small. I absolutely love the soft feel, fit, look. And strangely enough, it's now an outfit favorite of my boyfriend whenever I have it on. Just remember to size down, and you'll be right.

Camping is a breeze with this guy. I've had a separate backpacking stove that was like putting together a science experience every time, but the Jetboil is easy to set up and get going. I never have to worry about the strength of the burner and I definitely never have to worry about added unnecessary weight to my pack.

I have worn these for two seasons of ski instructing. The claw finger adds much need dexterity when I have to zip up the kids' jackets. Plus, they definitely keep my hands warmer than a traditional glove, since it keeps three of my fingers together. And the wrist strap is a god send when taking off and pulling on my gloves all day long. Don't forget to treat them once or twice a season, and you'll be good to go!

Bought these for my boyfriend who runs his own hardscaping company. He wanted a durable pant that looked a little nicer than his traditional double-fronts for his client-facing time. Everything was working out well until he burnt a hole right through them while kneeling on an open flame. We're coming back to buy more, but only after having an informational talk about how fire is hot.

I can't think of a better camp stove for car camping. I bought this for my boyfriend since he is spending more time off roading around California. The burners are strong, easy to light, and the entire ensemble is easy to clean. Very excited for him to get a full a camp life out of this.

I'm stoked on this jacket. It'll need to cool down more around Utah before I have a chance to wear it out, but from my initial impression of trying it on is that it's everything that I was looking for. It's waterproof, insulated, super long (the back hem falls all the way to the top of my calves), fits like a charm (and doesn't poof out), and best of all - the faux fur is removable! I'm going to be wearing this all winter long, I can already tell.
