Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I LOVE this bag. It is super durable and I never worry about stuffing it FULL and having the seams or zippers hold up. Great quality.

There is ample room and always ends up fitting way more than I expect it to fit.

This bag is great for flying too. I have been able to take it on as a carry on, no problem, and the backpack straps are pretty comfortable!

I love these mittens! I got them as a gift and have been wearing them every day this winter. I have normal female sized hands and the S/M fits great.
I did however think the fleece lining was going to be a little bit thicker than it is, but they are still super cozy none the less.

I LOVE this vest. I have had it for probably about 4 years now and wear it all the time. I have it in a small and it fits great over other jackets. I usually wear a small or medium in tops and a small fits perfectly with room to layer. Since it is down, it also packs down small and fits under warm jackets too. It is definitely more puffy than some of the other down vests out there so you can look a little like a marshmallow sometimes but the warmth makes up for it. This vest is super warm (sometimes even too warm for me!), and I run colder than most so it is awesome. This vest comes with me on every single one of my trips!

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Fit: Runs small
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 130 lbs
Size Purchased: 36

I received these pants as a Christmas gift and they are really cool! Unfortunately, even after doing extensive research on sizing and referring to the size chart, they were too small. I am usually a US size 27 or 4 in pants, which means I should be 36, but they were pretty dang tight around my upper thigh and could barely button them. Also, I received a "short," which was not specified when choosing a size.
I spoke with a Backcountry employee and she said that they only carry the "short" length because the pants run longer than most other pants. Unfortunately for me, I usually am between a "regular" or "long" in length, so these pants were too short for me as well. I will now be returning these pants and buying directly from Fjallraven so I can get my correct size.
Other than sizing issues, these pants seem awesome! I got the Tarmac/Dark Olive color and they look very nice. The darker parts are a durable, stiffer material, while the lighter parts are a super stretchy material, making them flexible and durable in the parts that need it.
Now that I have received the correct size, which turned out to be a 40 (which is the equivalent to a 10, what the heck?!?!) they fit great and I am very excited to actually use them!

My favorite climbing and hiking pant!
4 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 130 lbs
Size Purchased: 4

These are by far my favorite hiking and climbing pant. They are a very comfortable stretchy material.
FIT
My first pair I got I purchased a 6's according to the size chart (Those are the ones in the picture). I am usually a 4-6 or 27 depending on brand and fit. I definitely should have gone with the 4's, which I bought the second time around and fit better. The 6's I can wear with a belt fine and are actually kind of nice when I want a looser fitting pant but they are stretchy so the looseness doesn't really matter too much.
I also have slightly longer legs, usually somewhere between a regular and long length in pants so when getting the 4's, I went with the long length this time to see if I liked them better. The longs were literally like 4-5 inches longer! WAY too long to the point where I was stepping on the entire pant bottom. I got them hemmed to my perfect length now and they are great.
PROS
Very stretchy, flattering, lightweight, breathable.
The roll up snaps are really nice too!
CONS
The buttons on these pants are terrible. Within a week of wearing them one of the buttons to secure the pants on your waist just fell off. A few days later, the other one fell off!!! They are sewed on so badly, thankfully I had access to a sewing kit at the time and was able to sew them on much better and haven't had an issue since, but this has been an issue on both pairs I own.
The double button closure it kind of annoying too. It would be much simpler to just have one button, which I might end up altering myself as well.
The other thing I am not a fan of are the pockets. The snap buttons on the back pockets are not the most comfortable to sit on hard surfaces with. Also, the only other decent sized pockets are the two front ones, which aren't very deep at all, definitely not for an iPhone 6 to fit comfortably in without being annoying. There is a small zip pocket on the side, which is nice, but it really isn't too big.
OVERALL
Very comfortable pants! Minor issues with the buttons and pockets (why i gave 4 not 5 stars) but still one of my favorite climbing & hiking pants out there!

This is a super cozy hat. The fleece liking is fantastic and I love the pattern.
The pom ball on top was a little loose when I got it, which was kind of annoying when I moved my head and felt it flop (which is why it gets 4 instead of 5 stars). I sewed it on tighter and now it is great. Also, keep in mind that with the pom you will be unable to wear a helmet or hood over the hat but it is cute otherwise!

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Size Purchased: Medium

I bought these socks because I already have a few pairs of Darn Tough socks that I love. Unfortunately I didn't see any gender specs attached to these socks and didn't think twice about ordering a M, which would be my size in women's according to the size chart. I received the socks and they were definitely a men's medium. They seem like awesome socks though and I know being Darn Tough they are! Fortunately, I gave them to my dad and he is enjoying them. They are higher on the calf than the picture leads on to be as well, just to keep in mind.

This purifier is a life saver. I purchased it before a 2 month trip to India and Nepal where I did not want to think about getting sick from the water and it was perfect! I could fill my bottle up in the sink and have it drinkable in 1 minute, no worries. You do have to flip the bottle around the entire time its being purified and be sure to wipe the threads of the bottle before drinking or putting the lid on, but you get used to it pretty quick.

Its great because it fits on nalgene lids perfectly too, although I ran it 2 cycles when using it on a nalgene since there is more water to purify than the bottle it comes with.

The one issue I had with UV top is that even when it is in the little black case provided, sometime the power button gets pressed or bumped, especially if in a backpack, and then the display turns on, thus draining your battery quicker and you never notice. This was particularly annoying when backpacking 12 days in the Himalayas with unpredictable charging opportunities and storing it in a tight backpack. Even with this issue though, I never had it die on me, just make me a little nervous about it dying!

I would not travel to an area like this without this purifier though! Very easy and convenient to use!

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 130 lbs
Size Purchased: Medium

Prior to getting this version, I purchased the "Merino 150 Crew Shirt" (basically just the non-alpine version) and really liked it. I didn't however like how the sleeves on that version were too short for me to comfortably use the thumb holes! I came across this version and read that it had a longer torso and longer arms, woohoo!

I purchased it and like it much better than the non-alpine version because the arms fit much better and I love the length of the torso. I do personally like my sleeves to be a bit longer and have longer arms to start with, so keep this in mind if you have short arms.

The medium fits well on me with room for a short sleeve or tank underneath but can also wear by itself without looking baggy or big. I usually wear a small to medium or 4 to 6 in shirts. The head hole on this version was surprisingly small though. My head is pretty average size and it took some effort to pull it over my head, which is the reason for the 4 stars. Once on the neck doesn't feel tight thankfully but getting it on was harder than it should be...

Overall the shirt is comfy and a great layer. The seams are flattering and the thumb holes make it nice and cozy!

Does it's job

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this helmet as my first climbing helmet and I've been pretty happy with it.

I ordered the Cafe color (which I don't think is available anymore) and a M/L size since I was right in between sizes according to the size chart. The helmet fits well, although even when tightened down snugly, doesn't seem to stay straight on my head, as it ends up tilting one way or the other. My other dislike of this helmet is that the overall structure of the helmet does seem a little flimsy in my opinion but not in a way that makes me feel unsafe at all; seams that if packed away too tightly or thrown around too much, the plastic would crack, especially on the area on the back of the neck. Although, even with all the scratches and bumps acquired, this has yet to happen!
The helmet is light and does it's job at protecting your head from climbing/belaying hazards like smashing into the wall and falling rock. It is comfortable enough to wear all day and is breathable enough you don't feel like your head is hot and sweaty. The headlamp clips are convenient and work well too.
Overall, a great first helmet and one of the more flattering ones, even if I do think $60 is a little on the high end for it.

These shorts are made of a super lightweight and flexible material, making them very comfortable, especially for climbing. I love the length too! Not too long to be unflattering, but also long enough to sit comfortably under a harness and not ride up.

I am a generally cold person, especially when it comes to sleeping so I wanted a super warm bag. When looking around to upgrade to a warmer sleeping bag I wanted something I would be nice and warm in 20 and 30 degree weather. I also wanted a bag that had female specific insulation, especially in the feet since thats where I always seem to be the coldest. This bag has definitely not disappointed me!

I took it with me trekking through the Annapurna range in Nepal during the spring where some nights it got to be in the 30s, and I was never once cold while sleeping. I have also used this bag on much colder nights out in the desert and it has been great. I will occasionally use a thin liner just to feel a little more cozy inside and warm up quicker, but you really don't need it.

It packs down pretty small considering and isn't heavy considering. I would much rather be warm at night and carry a little extra weight than the alternative.

In terms of size, I am 5'8" and 130 lbs. I purchased the long version and it fits great. The bag is roomy enough to move around but not so much so that its drafty. It also has tons of different strings to cinch down the bag to not let any outside air in and what they call "insulated draft tubes" around the neck area and along the zipper, which are awesome. The only issue I have is that sometimes the drawstrings flop in your face, especially if using comforter style, which can be annoying, but they are usually out of the way.
Overall, great bag!
