Suzy Williams's Bio

Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. All of us could use a good dose of inspiration. Give me the Utah Coldsmoke and desert crack.
Climbing is Art.
The Adirondacks are my heritage. It is there, I spawned a love for wild and untamed forests adjacent to steep cliffs of granite prowess.
My climbing travels have taken me to Greece, Morocco, Spain, Bhutan, Indian, Japan, Germany, and all over the United States.
I studied art in Upstate New York, I grew up in a small mountain town, I was constantly inspired by the beautiful landscapes I called home.
Ice climbing is my second love, never does a frozen waterfall form the same pillars twice. I dream of icy days in far off places, much to my parent's dismay.
Winter backcountry adventures have also become a well aquainted hobby of mine - when the season turns and the leaves fall to the ground - you'll find me surfing the white waves of powder around Utah/Wyoming/Colorado.
Mountain Biking (DH & Enduro) have also occupied my time.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 125 lbs
Size Purchased: Medium

I have these in a medium, and my waist is 27/28eu - or size 6. Mediums fit great, they aren't too snug, yet still stay up, on my longer running days.
What I love about them most: the completely merino wool internal liner, it's soft against my skin and I haven't had any chafing issues whatsoever. Took them out for a run last night and can't rave enough about the outer material (non-wool) polyester/elastine combo. Smartwool put the wool in all the right places and saved weight with the external short being a lighter more wicking material. Highly recommend!

I just spoke with a customer who used these pedals and he had some useful information to share about these:

"They are way to thick and I'm not sure why, I'm sure Shimano has their reason, but you have to put the pins in from the top. Meaning, every pin that breaks, you just lost the ability to use an Allen key to get it out because the head isn't on the bottom like most other pedals I didn't know that going into it. I Figured Shimano makes good stuff, I would try them out. But I've already broken many pins and I just don't like that. "

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Wonderful shoe, the stealth rubber soles are unmatched in the climbing world. Took these bad boys up South Ridge of Superior and they worked great for a 5.4,- 4,000 foot ridge scramble adventure. The full leather upper does run hot, and they aren't the best for running down mountains (hit my toes on the front of the shoe)
But for pure-rock scramble and approach endeavors, this is your ticket to less sketchy foot placements.

STEALTH RUBBER
These shoes are the best thing FiveTen ever came up with. Lightweight, grippy approach shoes that you can easily hop on a bike or run around steep granite talus fields with ease. Mesh upper and a slight rubber-toe cover lets you knock these around without tearing up the toe area. Soft mesh tounge and comes with an extra set of laces so when you break the others; you're not up shit-creek.

Durable Gore-Tex Bibs
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs small
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 125 lbs
Size Purchased: Eu 10

I am a size 27 or women's 6 in pants and these run very very small. I quickly realized I needed a size10 to accommodate natural movement in the mountains as well as my long legs. Otherwise, I love the features and butt zip-off area of these bibs / ski-pants.. now I don't have to get completely undressed to go to the bathroom. A wear these with thin wool leggings underneath and tall wool socks when I'm ski-touring and they are wonderful. No stretch whatsoever, but the Gore-tex has never failed me!

I am a size 34C cup and went with the medium size. Compared to the Barely-There Patagonia bra (where I was a size small), this boob-harness has much more support. The strap around the rib cage is thicker and has a more push-up and push-out look when it's on. It comes with light removable-padding. NOT for running or anysort of up-and-down motion, as my boobs did pop out quickly. Love the dark green color-way and wearing it with a loose (low-back) shirt is what I've been enjoying style-wise.

Lightweight Bike DH Pants!
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Yep, I'm wearing men's bike pants: and I LOVE THEM. They are a comfy thin material with laser-cut venting holes in the inside thigh area. The snap and zip closure around the waist area is high-waisted and wonderful.
I wear women's size 6 pants (27eu) and the size 30 fits me perfectly, not too tight and not too baggy. Room for DH positioning on a bike.

The Cinder grey color is lighter than the photo above entails, it's a heather-grey which I really like!

I love this longer, duck-tail style rain coat. I'm a tall lady and this more than covers my bum area. Hood has good coverage and the sleek stow-away compartment in the collar area is designed intuitively. Internal drawstrings and cell phone pocket is wonderful. Bring it on Rainy season!

This deceivingly spacious and easy-to access climbing bag is changing the game of what you need when you're on the wall all day. The waterproof zippers and abrasion resistant fabric are just a few of the key features.

- Main pocket wraps 60% around the face of the pack so you can grab a snack or rain jacket in a pinch while hanging off pitch 8.
- Smaller pocket in the front also has internal access to the main pocket and it's felted (to reduce scratching on your cellphone screen)
- Sternum strap and waist belt that's burly for a wall-bag.
It's so nice to finally find a big wall climbing bag that is waterproof and burly enough to be dragged against an off width pitch without getting holes in it!

Dream MTB Shirt
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Tech shirt worth every penny! This runs a full size small, I'm typically a size small and went with the medium. The sleeves have a completely different fabric than the body of the top. Bra size 34C and I have more muscular arms too.
Sleeves are more abrasion resistant and have laser cut vents in the pit-area, which breathes insanely well.
The body of the shirt is Delta Polartec dream-fabric, I went for a hot, sweaty ride where I was pedaling half the time and the fabric magically was dry and breathable when I started the downhill. The designers and fabric engineers truly thought of everything when making this top! I'm going to get the other color.

Must-Have desert (Moab, Fruita, St.George, Durango) riding top. Excels in heat.

DH Shorts
4 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I wear a size 6, and the 28" waist fits me perfectly! I love these becuase they aren't too-tight. In a world of lyrca and fast pace uphill bikers, its nice to have these as a DowhHill short where you're in the crouch-down-hill position most of the time you're riding. These are not enduro shorts, nor XC shorts, but an excellent thickness for Downhill only oriented riding. Love the pockets for cell phone and keys, I don't need any other storage (Fanny pack, backpack) etc.
