I agree with the reviews below that the FRC bibs, previously the only bibs or shorts I would wear, are not as good this year. I did not find the length excessive, but the leg band now hits me at a very uncomfortable spot that it never used to. I also think the chamois is not as good as previous models. I am lucky that I still have 3 pairs of the 2017 model, because I don't touch this year's version unless I have nothing else left to wear. I would not buy these again unless they returned to the previous specifications.

I've worn these bib shorts exclusively for a decade or more. They were perfect exactly as they were. In 2018, a few minor changes ruined them for me. Giordana added a couple of inches of length. The originals were a tad short, but the new length is too long for some people and, given where the leg band hits, makes them extremely uncomfortable. The new padding is slightly different too. I'm one of those people who prefers a slimmer, more flexible pad. The new chamois is not as bad as many others, but not as good as prior models of the FR-C. I never minded paying full price for these bibs before, and usually buy 2-3 pairs each year, but given the recent changes I would not buy another pair. I will search for a replacement from another company instead. I read reviews on other websites, and I know I'm not the only one who feels the recent upgrades ended up being downgrades.

I wore the Fireblades for many years and thought they were the best shoe ever. I do not know why La Sportiva stopped making them. I cycled through several other styles of their shoes after, including the C-lite which I disliked immensely, and found that these are the next best shoe. I have very narrow feet so I cannot respond to the comment below about their width. I have not gotten any blisters. I trail run, hike, and backback with them. I have climbed in the white mountains, NH; on the long trail, VT and did several 13 & 14ers in Colorado in them so far and have not had any problems. There was one spot that looked like it was splitting but so far has stayed together.
