Altra is basically the most underrated running shoe company out there. These have great rebound, and the upper is incredibly breathable and comfortable. It blankets and fits my foot very well! I initially bought these specifically for running and working out, but now I find it difficult to not just wear them everywhere that I go. I also love the low profile colorways in this model.

This is a pretty cool little tool to help keep your hand/wrist/forarm strength up during down times (Watching TV, at office, etc). It works your hands and fingers in ways that you normally wouldn't with an older fashioned spring loaded grip strenth tool .

These are sick looking -- a modernized aviator! They don't fit too large on my face, and I love the blue mirror and blue arms. I have a decent amount of sunglasses in the rotation, and it's tough to wear any of the other options at this point.

Awesome sock for the trail! I bought these in the 1/4 length so that they can be just a hair taller than my hiking boots and trail running shoes. These do a great job of wicking and moisture control. They're so much better than a cotton sock that can get swampy fast!

I love this hat! It wicks and dries so fast and keeps your head amazingly breathable. It's the perfect hat for a desert excursion. It's light weight, and the bill of the hat will hold a bit of moisture well in case you want to give it a dip in a near by creek to keep you cool on the hottest of days! Stoked on this purchase!

I like how lightweight and breathable these gaiters are. They're pretty much perfect for desert backpacking excursions! They kept the dust, scree, debris out, and still allowed my feet and ankles to breathe enough in the desert heat. Didn't overheat at all! Two thumbs up!!

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the most popular mountain house meal. It's simple, wholesome, and delicious. It doesn't even require a cook time. Although you can use hot water if you'd like, I just prefer it cold. I just pour the directed amount of cold water in and stir it up. It's like the best breakfast cereal that you can buy! I pretty much exclusively eat this option for breakfast while on the trail. Two, HUGE thumbs up!!

I'm a sucker for Mac and cheese, so I feel like you can pretty much never go wrong there. You'll want to make sure not to over/under cook it, and add the right amount of water, because this one can go awry fast. But if you follow the instructions closely, you'll have a great bite to eat on the trail. I just wish this had a meat option in it to give you a bit more nutrients in the backcountry.

This is my favorite backpacking meal. I'll even eat it for breakfast sometimes. Classic spaghetti and meatsauce flavor while deep in the backcountry-- nothing better than that! Cooks quickly and is easy to stir together so you don't get those pockets of dry food that can happen with other dehydrated meals. So satisfying!

This one and the spaghetti and meatsauce are by far my favorite dehydrated meals on the backpacking trail. I literally eat this one for breakfast sometimes because it is so good. Mandatory addition to the collection of dehydrated meals.

I got one of these and I liked it so much that I bought another as a gift for my brother. If you're planning on taking a trip where chargers and power sources are at a minimum, this is the perfect addition for your gear closet. You can charge up the batteries that are included, or you can charge anything via the USB port on the Guide 10. You just need a bit of sun.

This pack is lightweight and highly functional. While it may not be considered among the lightest of packs, the 3 lb mark is still very respectable in terms of light weight backpacking. I decided to purchase this over the super light weight Hyperlite pack or Osprey Levity pack because it has more features that aren't included when you cut so much weight. I love that you can access the lower portion of this pack without having to dig through the top. I also like the center-buckle hip belt with storage pockets. The accessible side pockets for your water bottle storage on-the-go. The straps can also loop through those side pockets so that you can still use the pocket even when you'd like to sinch the pack down as much as possible. It also comes with a rain cover, so you don't have to purchase that separately. Overall, super dope pack!
