Stoic seems to have some pretty rad prints...but I ordered this one and another and found that these shirts are a) not the best quality (loose threads, appear to wrinkle easily, and have a coarse weave) b) the prints look like they'll start fading out after about a few months worth of washing.

The print pattern is also a bit too coarse for my preference. I also ordered larges in both shirts and found their fitting to be different.

I am in the environmental field. I work out in the sun quite a bit and out on the water. The price for the protection (hood, with button up neck, thumb holes) are great. Pair it with some light weight pants, buff, and sunglasses and you're good to go.

I ordered large. I am usually in between M-L depending on the brand. The Large is a big big on me...but its comfortable out in the field. The material doesn't stick to your skin.

Beware....some come with the Patagonia fish logo on the back and some don't,,,what up with that Backcountry?

If you want a more casual and urban look than the Zion, then look no further.
I go on rides and climb with these babies. My only complaint is that even though they are significantly less baggy than the Zions....they still kind of flap/flood at the ankles....but they're more do-able than the Zions! Perhaps they left some room for a more comfortable roll-up? I also wish that they've also bring over the cinching belt from the Zion.

These are great for Texas weather if that tells you anything about breathability in warmer climates.

I use these also on camping trips. The difference between Brion and the Zions is that I bring out the Brion when I'm around town, too.

Great pair of pants. My friends call them my "Doctor pants". I can go anywhere with these thangs. Great for any casual occasion, you can rest assured that you will be ready for any minor recreation whether climbing, biking, walking home in a light rain, or hiking in warm temps. My only complaint is that the leg ends are a bit big. They're not wavy-flag big, but they're not the most flattering of cuts. I've got relatively big thighs and calves, and small ankles.

Light weight. Well articulated for comfortable movement. I climbed over fallen firs and scrambled over moss-covered rocks along the Olympic Peninsula. These pants held up over 5 days of near constant rain. They even helped to keep mud out of my boots when I sunk into almost-knee high mud! The snap ends really helped keep the ankle cuffs over my boots. They dry pretty fast too. The zippers are really easy to use and they dump heat well. I highly recommend these pants. The jacket is another story...

So I really really really wanted to like this jacket. I live in a sub-tropical area that demands a jacket that care really breathe AND keep the rain off.

I bought the first jacket. I finally got to test it one day on the way to work. From when I got out of my car and got to my desk, I spotted areas wetting out on my left arm. The rain wasn't even what I'd call a downpour, more of a drizzle.

I contacted OR about it, got a new one (just in time for a trip to the Olympic Coast). I was planning to backpack down the coast for 4 days...I had to cut it short by a day. It rained the whole first day...my new jacket wetted out...and got to my baselayer. I was wearing wool so it wasn't all too bad but I was disappointed with this failing gear. By the second night, I was under an emergency blanket while waiting for my baselayers (yes, plural) and jacket to dry out.

Talked to OR again (who are GREAT) and have come to an arrangement. I think OR is great, their design is great. This jacket seems to be an anomaly. Folks swear by their older Forays. But this one was just disappointing. Other reviews say it was a bad batch...but if you look at the dates of these reviews...they spread over a somewhat lengthy time span. Why have they not pulled all the "bad batches" yet?

Foray pants were great- but the jacket, again, the torsoFlow zippers and the lightweightedness of the jacket made it a real winner....but performance just didn't live up to the hype.It may be great for Seattle itself...not sure about the peninsula.

So far I've used these for around-town errands, climbing, dog park visits, and jogs. I want to describe these as having a near-gym-shorts like feel but with serious construction. They are so comfortable.

The construction is great. The only complaint I have is how they fit on the behind...but I suppose that's because of the gusset crotch construction (which has airholes for breathability)for comfort.

There are 6 pockets. Two at the back, two at the sides, and two cargo. I was a bit disappointed with the cargo pockets...they're a bit tight and hard to get things in and out of. They have two zipper pockets for two-way access (Which is nice).

Zip on and off easily. Once zipped off, the pants kinda hang like slim but semi-long skater shorts. Wish they were more above-knee.

These pants are described as DWR coated (in this case Scotchgard). However, upon first usage...they wetted out pretty easily. So I applied another coat and now water droplets are beading like they're supposed to.

The fitting is perfect. Not baggy. Waist is correct.
