Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: Runs large
What you've read in other reviews is true...this pant definitely runs large and you can size down. I have another pair of Marmot long hiking pants in an 8 (I'm 5'5" 148 lbs) and they are a good fit, but I listened to others here and ordered a 6. I'm so glad I did! The 6 fits even more comfortably than the 8 in my other Marmots. The pants have more of a low rise which is a little awk for some hiking pants, but I just wear with a belt and its all good. The pants are definitely roomy for my thick thighs, but it does make the zipper section a little tight. Not bad enough to return them though, and I know a size up would have a too big waistline then. Repel light water and dry fast. I LOVE that the roll up option uses little bungees to connect to the button rather than those long flaps that a lot of other pants/shirts use for roll ups.
Overall awesome pants! Only downsides are the lower rise and tight zipper on thighs. Remember to size down!
