Like the other review below. The bottom Velcro strap has torn on my shoes unfortunately wear it comes in contact with the metal oval for tightening. Luckily though, the bottom strap is least important in my opinion & it took over a year for mine to rip half way. That being said, I own two pairs of these shoes because simply, I love the edging, toe hooking (Velcro straps help), the fit and the over all performance of these shoes. I own two pairs so that when one pair is being re-soled, the other pair is at work. I really really enjoy these shoes and I highly recommend them but yeah, that bottom strap kinda sucks but luckily it's still holding.

I like this daisy because I can use it in the typical jugging fashion or if I wanna go light weight, I can slip my foot in to the bigger loop and jug some overhanging terrain. Overall it's a good length and keeps nice and straight and doesn't twist.

I got these for my gf and since she's had them, I've heard nothing but how comfortable they are. They also look really good in my opinion. She hasn't really gone anywhere too insane that would really test the Goretex but as far as long, rocky alpine hikes, they seem to be working out very well.

Took my first big fall on the #1 yesterday. Definitely a bomber little piece of pro! If it wouldn't have held, I probably would have landed on my belayer since it was a shorter route and I only had 2 other pieces below me. Thanks for the catch!

I rock two pairs of these. I have one pair in 41 and another in 41 1/2/ I use the 41 for the super thin stuff that involves extra sensitivity on my toes and the bigger size for the all day long, more relaxed approach. Also 2 pairs because if I have to have 1 resoled, then I don't want to climb without my favorite shoe.

Hands down, Excellent crack/all day shoe.

Versatile and Secure

In the picture below, I'm in an OW chimney about 15' above my last piece and now I have to exit towards the opening and do a sort of dyno move to a sloppy ledge, with my feet smearing to get up. All I could get was a mediocre DMM #3 piece in a tiny slot with kinda loose rock. I now have mind games to deal with but I have a .1 X4 left on my belt and I place it, tug on it a bit, I feel better now. End of pitch 1. On to pitch 2.

I love these shoes. They perform fantastically in every way from smearing, to putting all of your wight and trust in to the smallest of foot holds. Only issue is, I wore them to the gym twice now and totally regret it. The unkind plastic really just wore out the toe very quickly. Now I wouldn't say this is a negative thing because the shoes are amazing and plastic is often very rough on shoes but because I love these shoes, I regret taking them to the gym. So buy these shoes but take your old pair to the gym and keep these for the real thing. Also, the additional rubber on top of the toe makes these pretty nice for crack climbing too!

When purchasing these, I knew they would be big & beefy but when I opened them up they were much bigger than expected. Personally I'm all about it. I feel like the tread and support of the boot will be excellent in snow and tough uneven terrain. Unfortunately they are not 100% water proof but I think if they were, they may be too stiff and not as comfortable. So far I've been in at least 36" of snow and they're great! The pull cord at the top stays nice and tight to keep snow out of the boot, which is wonderful because before they arrived I thought that maybe I would be able to pull my pants/jeans over the boot for extra security but the boot is far to big for that. So like I said, luckily the pull cord at the top works very well.

Metolius is Honest

I choose Metolius over BD because Metolius is what my mentor turned me on to from the start. I hear great things about BD all the time but one thing I love about Metolius is this. While every company out there is doing everything they can to knock weight off of cams. Metolius is doing the same but they never knock that much weight off because they refuse to change the lobes in fear that they'll compromise they're excellent lobe design that has been so trusted by the company & climbers for so long. I respect that personally. I'll take a tiny bit more weight if that's what the company feels is best for my safety.
