Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
My wife and I are taller people and we do not like squeezing into the typical 2-person tent. Our backpacking tent was 15 years old and for our anniversary trip we decided to get the Copper Spur UL3.
We backpacked in Banff and as we were coming off the pass, heading towards the campsite, we noticed inclement weather coming over the adjacent mountain range. We found a site just as the first drops of water started falling and pulled the tent out for the very first time. Fortunately, the Copper Spur is the easiest tent to set up that I have ever owned. The end of the poles were color coded to match the tent body and rain fly. We were able to put it up in less than two minutes, throw our stuff in and narrowly escape the downpour.
The UL3 is big and roomy, which allowed a comfortable afternoon of waiting out the storm. Our stuff stayed dry and the tent is just shy of 4 pounds, which is remarkable given its size. This is the second Big Agnes tent that I have purchased and am extremely happy!
