Sarah Savala's Bio

Hey friends!
My name is Sarah. I was born and raised in the small Cali beach town of Ventura but always had a deep love for the mountains that I could not deny. That love moved me to Mammoth Lakes, California where I enjoyed all my outdoor passions in the Eastern Sierra. I moved to Salt Lake City in 2015 to experience this great outdoor industry hub and it definitely has not disappointed! My passions are all things outdoors but more specifically I love Snowboarding, Mountain Biking, Hiking with my pittie Bodie, and traveling to destinations that support these passions.
The brands Burton and Free People, best represent my style and I would love to recommend my favorite items.
Feel free to hit me up at any time so I can help you make the best of your next adventure.

This Thermal top is a staple in my closet. It pairs great with jeans or tights and a cute boot. Whether dressed up or down this piece is extremely comfortable and versatile. Can't decide which color? Choose them all!
Note: I normally like a relaxed it and would typically fall into a medium to achieve that look. This shirt does run a tad bit big so I went with a small.

Niner might not be the most popular and sought after bike on the market BUT this bike impressed me!

From green flowing trails to double black chunk gnar, this bike handles it all.
The Geometry is not as slack as I am used so it took me a few laps before I felt comfortable, especially when it came to steeper descents. The Rip 9 handled jump trails really well and I felt extremely comfortable in the air and on small drops. Again, I believe the geometry was a factor for me on technical trails as I felt like I might fly OTB when it got steep.

All in all, this bike pedaled really well, cornered easily and made me smile on Jumps. This would be a great choice for someone looking for a versatile bike that handles almost anything with ease.

Dream Machine

Wow wow wow! I am in love with this bike. With 160 travel, front and back, you can literally cruise at ease through almost anything. The rock garden you see in my picture is something I would normally struggle to ride all the way through without putting a foot down but the Megatower gave me the confidence to push all the way through.
I rode this bike at three bike parks: Trestle, Keystone and Snowmass. Not only does this bike crush steep and technical descents, it jumps, corners fast and pedals well when needed. (I will be pedaling more with it in a few weeks and will update my review with that info. )

Summary (so far):
If I could afford two bikes, I would own the Megatower and keep my Evil Following for the ultimate duo. Mega for the downhill days and Following for the trail days. Since I cannot afford two bikes, I might be settling on the Santa Cruz hightower or Evil Offering for their happy medium in all areas.

UPDATE: I took the Megatower along on my adventure in the PNW. I pedaled at Tiger Mountain, Galbreath and some undisclosed locations. Although I was not setting PR's on the climbs, I was close to those records. I am not the fastest pedaler so if I were to buy this bike I would save weight and splurge on the CC model with Reserve wheels.

The Carve Designs Jasmine Jumpsuit is exactly what I had been looking for. It was the perfect fit for my long legs and long torso. There is no pulling in any area of my body. The shoulder straps are adjustable and the waist strap is great for keeping the waist in the area you want it to stay.
I do recommend sizing down. I am a strong small but had to get the XS in this item. It still stretches out but does not look frumpy.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I grew up skiing but transitioned to snowboarding as a teen. Every season I enjoy skiing a few times to keep up on my skills. I used these skis twice this season and they rock (pun intended). The rocker tips make these super floaty in powder and chunder. I loved the Camber underfoot for more edge response since I am not the strongest of skiers. These would be great for an intermediate skier looking for a playful yet hard charging ski.

Like my Title says, it keeps my board safe from unnecessary scratches during transit and keeps my gear organized. I fit my Burton Story Board with bindings attached and my Jones Explorer Split with bindings not attached. Love the color choices!

You have no idea how cute this jacket is until it is in your hands. So do yourself a favor and order it now, while there is still stock, because there won't be for too long. I have the mood indigo color and it is gorgeous. I get non-stop compliments.

This jacket is better than I had hoped for. The fit is flawless and the 3 Layer Gore-tex keeps you dry all season long. The stretch plain weave that is added feels super nice and keeps you having full mobility. Oh, I can't forget about that kangaroo pocket. It is money for holding all your snacks, phone and wallet. I pair my jacket with the Burton Vida pant or the Burton Kimmy Bib.

These are the best bibs out there and are my go to for all season riding. The stretch 3 layer Gore-Tex allows for full mobility and breathability whether you are riding resort or pushing peaks in the backcountry. And It doesn't stop there.... The fit is perfect with not being too baggy or tight while still showing your girlish figure. Have at it ladies!

This sweater is perfect for everyday wear. I have paired it with jeans and cute boots, worn as a midlayer while snowboarding as well as thrown it on after the gym with my leggings. The versatility of this sweater is endless and I recommend it in every woman's closet.

I just took this lantern on a recent trip and it was awesome! It was super bright and the battery life last forever. We used it at the camp table while cooking as well as in the tent when hanging out. It was also nice having a way to charge my phone since I use my phone as my camera and need as much charge as possible.
It was surprisingly light for the size.

This a great addition to your car camping set up. I love that I can snuggle up next to my boyfriend or my dog or even spawl out by myself! It is really durable and solid feeling. I have never felt like it is going to break with two people on it. The carry system is key.

We took this backpack with us to Redbull Rampage. You have to bike 5 miles out to the event site and it is BYOB so this pack was a game changer. We were able to load 24 beers in it to keep us all refreshed while watching the insanity of the event. It kept the beers cold the entire day while sitting out in 75 degree sun.

I feel like a Warm Queen in my Storm King bag. I have always been cold when camping and the problem has finally been solved with this bag. I definitely run on the cold side when sleeping so a Zero degree bag is pertinent for me. The Storm King is made with 650 DownTek so you are not compromising on weight. I went with the regular/left zip. My boyfriend bought the Lost Ranger and got the long/right zip so we can integrate the bags when camping together.
