Before purchasing, I was worried that these boots were going to be very big and chunky. I prefer trail runners for hiking, but I needed something to wear for backcountry pack backing.

I really like how supported my ankles are supported in these boots. The only complaint that I have is that I cannot get my boots laced at the top as tight was I would like them.

The cushioning in the heel is wonderful and the waterproof protection is a life-saver. The tread is also great. I've hiked in snow and ice and felt stable.

** For sizing - make sure you get a half size larger!

The best feature about the Burton Vista Belt is the metal-clamp design that allows you secure your belt for the perfect fit. The only problem that I have is that after I clamp the belt, there is excessive left over that you have to fold.

I think that it is very stylish and wearable on adventures and when hanging out with friends.

I was hesitant about buying a pair of socks that cost over $5.00.

I wear my socks out and lose the elasticity quickly on most pairs. However, my SmartWool socks are able to withstand my activities and adventures. My favorite features on the socks are the cushioning and compressing in the heel and arch. I am very prone to getting pain in the arch of my foot and heel. It is a great feeling to not have to compromise pain over adventure.

Not only do I wear these on my adventures, but also to the office. I love the compliments that I receive about the look of these socks.

I initially bought this headband for hiking, but practically use it for any activity. I love that you can scrunch it up and make a really thin headband or expand it over most of your head.

Recently I was visiting Myrtle Beach when Tropical Storm Ana took landfall. I was able to go out to the beach and take pictures without hair getting into my eyes.

Definitely would recommend this if you are looking for a practical and fashionable headband. I bought the fuchsia color.

A friend asked me to go on a mountain night ride with him. I really wanted to go, but was hesitant about riding at night. My biggest fear was that I was going to endo over my handlebars for lack of light. My local bike shop was demoing these lights, so I decided to take it on a spin.

I found the set-up for the mount of my helmet complicated. I took me a while before I was able to get it together.

The light is not heavy; which is great because I didn't want it tilting my helmet to the side or forwards. The cord didn't come in my way or hit me in the face.

The light was great! I was able to see everything I wanted while on the trail. Definitely made me a more confidant rider.

I give this light 4 stars because of the difficulty I had initially setting the mount on my helmet.

I love this Buff! I hate when wind is able to get into your cycling jersey and make your ride miserable. I am able to keep my neck warm and wick away the sweat. Really like the "Sitting Bull" design. Looks great with your cycling kits and keeps you fashionable as you ride! It is not tight about my neck or is it too big. Feels just right.

I am 5'5 in and 145 lbs for sizing reference.

Thank you Backcountry.com and Hero Kit for hand-selecting me to review this piece of gear for the benefit of the Backcountry.com community!

We were 80 miles into 150 mile our trip. Leaving from Harrisonburg, Va earlier that morning, we started climbing over into West Virginia. We had anticipated this climb all morning. I didn’t know specifically how this trip was going to challenge me; all I knew was that it was going to be hard. Luckily for me, my boyfriend Matt is a crazy cyclist like me and agreed to take the trip with me. As any cyclist knows, you have to keep pushing the pedal on stroke at a time. The lactic acid builds in your legs, your breathing becomes heavier and the precipitation on your face builds. There is a certain draw to this biological pain that keeps us cyclists coming back for more. We continued our climb into the mountains. Hard long pedal strokes dominated much of our ride. We finally reached the peak of the mountain; my legs could finally spin freely. As I started to breathe a sigh of relief, I heard Matt behind me, “Oh no, no, no.” We managed to pull over to the side of the road and Matt inspected his bike. Much to our surprise, his front derailleur cable snapped. Sometimes our adventures don’t go as planned. Small mechanic features can derail an adventure that could have easy been avoided. Hero Kit allows for the adventure to continue. The package can fit easily in a riding backpack. It seems to be too heavy to fit in a jersey pocket. The airtight packaging keeps rain and moisture out. Hero Kits are packed with supplies that every rider should pack, but often forget. Each kit comes equip with a manual on how to complete each fix and the predicted level of intensity for each fix. This pack is ideal for beginners who want to ride and have the comfort of a mechanic along for the ride. I would highly recommend using Hero Kit to carry along on any adventure or any route. Great gift for beginners or for any young cyclist learning to fix his or her bike.
