These are being used as work boots at a site which is one mile from end to end. The insoles were removed in order to add Superfeet orthotic insoles, though the included insole seems great my husband's feet require extra support. The site requires a lot of walking on concrete as well as uneven ground. My husband wanted something lighter than his regular steel toes and geared more towards walking. He was surprised how much support these offer the ankle and yet how flexible the toe is which is great for kneeling and crouching and ladders. They are waterproof and warm in the snow. They are warmer than he would like indoors, but not to the point of being uncomfortable. His feet no longer hurt every day after a ten hour workday. These absorb noticeably more shock going up and down stairs than any footwear he's owned. He loves these and they seem like they should wear well. Price is the only downside for these.
