These are cheap. These are light. These are easy to use and most importantly these are super dependable. These are kind to your wrists and forearms with their gentle shock absorption. I've put about 70 miles beneath mine, a friend just bought them on a recommendation and was pleased, and im giving another friend a pair as a gift. If you are a beginner or moderate hiker these will definitely take care of you. PS I'm a 5'5 155 lbs female and I beat the hell out if these and they've got nothing but some scratches.

Geeze what I can I say? This product is exactly what it promises. 100% waterproof. Super light to carry in a pack and to wear. Holds in body heat when you want to be warm way better than you would think for something so light, but also vents out those zippered armpits real nice, too. I am most OBSESSED with how well it velcrows and zips up around the neck without irritating your skin under the chin or catching your hair in the zipper. It you've ever had chin rash or caught up hair you'll know what I mean and I promise this coat is a game changer. Also has a great little built in awning??? So rain won't drip in your face even if you forget a hat. Oh, also....good colors, flattering fit, perfect for backpacking, climbing, camping, field research, or just a rainy day in town.

I broke these in just a weeeee bit before taking them on a first full trip, a solid hike around Mt Washington. To be honest, I bought them because they seemed to be the shoes the everyone and their mother trusts, I see them on the trail and in the day to day all the time. They were angels in lots of deep mud and mountain streams following unrelenting summer storms. Despite the fresh tread, they did slip out on smooth-faced scrambles when wet, but that's to be expected. Overall, I use them on all my hikes now, they were forgiving even though not fully broken in, and they are super comfy when Im collecting research field samples for work on farms. Totally water proof, totally comfy, and even a little cute with skinny jeans (sorry not sorry!)
