Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love these carabiners. They weigh nothing, they have an awesome, crisp gate action, and they have a lot of real estate inside the biner. All of my friends who I climb with have racks of the DMM Alphas. I like these better for their slightly bigger size which I think makes them more ergonomic. Plus you'll never have to worry about getting your gear mixed up on your next climbing trip because nobody has Wild Country gear :P

Great boot, wish the tread was better

Fit: True to size
Height: 6' 0"
Weight: 155 lbs
Size Purchased: 11

These would be some awesome boots if Oboz would just use some good quality rubber like Vibram for the treads. Instead they feel like they're made out of some sort of foam. I have never experienced anything like this before with boots, large chunks of the tread just tearing off. The bottoms look like they've been gnawed on by a carnivorous animal. That said I have put hundreds of miles on these boots, but this began happening pretty soon after buying them.

I still give them four stars because they are extremely comfortable, light, and I always prefer a full leather boot. Plus they get points for looking cool. I have retired them after about three years and have bought boots with Vibram treads.

Fit: Runs small

11/11.5 normal shoe size/ 42.5 Solutions size. Fit is snug but not too painful. Probably could have gone down another half size if i really wanted to be in pain.
If you have long and narrow feet like me these shoes feel like they were custom-fit. The heel cup on the solutions fit like a suction cup on my feet. Heel hooking in these shoes feels more solid than any other aggressive climbing shoe i've used. The toe box fits just snug enough, and the rubber on top of the toe is actually in a logical place for toe hooks.
There's a reason these are the shoes you always see on the feet of professional sport climbers and boulderers. If you're looking to buy a pair of aggressive shoes and deciding between these and something else, just get the solutions.

If brightly stained feet bother you, stay away from the hiangles. If not, then you can enjoy them for the excellent aggressive shoe that they are nonetheless. The fit is precise, if not a bit stiff at first (what shoes arent), and they have stealth rubber soles so you can stick to anything. The heel cup is great and the rubber extends all the way up to the achilles allowing me to stick heel hooks better than any other shoe I've tried. I just think the stained feet show very poor craftsmanship on five-ten's part. This photo was taken after a three hour gym session, after owning the shoes for five months and climbing in them at least once a week, usually more. The toe is just starting to get worn out, and they are still doing this. I'm beginning to think they will never stop.
