These poles are so light, there's no reason not to bring them! The Z fold design allows the poles to be stowed away easily. The grips are incredibly comfortable and I never had an issue finding traction on gravel trails and during some light scrambling. All in all, if weight is a big factor for you, these poles are a dream come true and don't sacrifice comfort or traction!

I took this tent out with 4 of my buddies and everyone was shocked by how roomie it was! Everyone could stand up easily and there were a plethora of gear pockets to keep everyone's belongings secured and separated.
The tent held up to a thunderstorm no problem and was condensation-free the next morning! Though this tent is definitely not the lightest, it is built extremely well, is a breeze to put up, and feel like a tiny house when you're inside!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

This Day Pack has been a top contender during my search for a new daypack. I wanted something that can function just as well on a hike or climbing trip as well as on my college campus. Fortunately, the ACT Trail 24L is able to hold my 14in laptop in the hydration sleeve and has enough space left for miscellaneous school supplies.
The pack itself functions perfectly on hikes and I love the webbed design of the hip straps. I didn't expect them to provide too much support, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was both breathable and secure.
The only feature I found to be lacking was how shallow the water bottle side pocket is. My 1L Nalgene looks like its poking out a little too much, though I have yet to see it slip out.
Overall, I think this bag gives the standard Osprey and Patagonia packs a run for their money.

These are some great looking sunglasses! They come in a nice box with a convenient baggie to keep them in that also doubles as a microfiber cleaner. One of the hinges on my pair open and closes super smoothly, while the other is quite a bit more stiff. Overall, the build feels good and I love the Sunski message and their use of recycled plastics too!

La Sportiva put together a great beginner shoe here! It isn't too uncomfortable when sized right (toes should be just a little snug, but not too much to be painful) and the laces cinch up perfectly and can be relaced to apply pressure where it's needed. They're also at the perfect price point where it makes sense to buy your very own climbing shoes instead of constantly renting!

Fit: Runs large
Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 155 lbs
Size Purchased: 9

First things first, these boots will run large, so be sure to go one full size down from your normal boot size. With that out of the way, these boots are incredibly warm and look great to bat. They're not too rugged for hiking, but they're perfect for my day to day needs. After all, these boots have influenced the winter boot market for decades and for good reason.

The Snowpeak Gigapower stove is an amazing stove for beginners and ultralight fans at an incredible price. The entire setup can be packed into a lightweight, plastic case that is no larger than a Nokia phone while maintaining the durability of the aforementioned Nokia. The four prong system provides a stable platform for cookware. I have yet to have the Piezo ignition system fail on me, but that's easily fixed if you have a lighter or match on hand . Lastly, having the ability to regulate the heat output makes simmering and boiling a breeze, which makes cleanup much easier. Can't wait to take this little stove on more trips!
