Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 160 lbs
Size Purchased: 32x32

I am 5'11'' 160 lbs and I wear a true 32x32 in Carhart's.
These pants on the other hand don't fit properly at all. The waist and length is fine, but the pants are 3''-4'' too big in the thigh. I tried to shrink them, but they're still way too big.
Having pants this big in the thigh creates draft, which defeats the purpose of having flannel lined pants in the first place.
I'd return them if I hadn't already washed them.
I have no use for these.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 155 lbs
Size Purchased: Medium

My Synchilla Snap-T is my favorite article of clothing, period. So I had to get the pants as well.
These are awesome, BUT the pockets are small....... Super small........ The back pocket is about 3" deep and the front pockets can comfortably conceal a chap stick. That's it. I think I am going to modify them to make the pockets deeper.
The weight of the fleece is SO heavy and nice! They keep me warm in the Minnesota winter!
The fit is terrific. I am 5'11" 155 LBS, I typically wear a 31x32 pant and I bought these in a medium.
Patagonia Reps - Read the reviews on these pants. The consumers use these lounge pants as recreational pants too, whether that is walking a dog or skinning a mountain. They're warm, the fleece sheds snow, and they dry fast once wet. I wish the pockets on these pants were deeper, but that's my only complaint. It would also be sweet to have zippers on the front pockets too if they were deeper.
That would knock these out of the park!

GOAT WORTHY PACK
4 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased a size SMALL for my 47LBS Australian Cattle Dog. It fits great and it holds all of his food for a 5 day trip, plus the first aid kit!
My only complaint is that the straps are complicated to adjust on the go. You'll find that you need to adjust the pack semi-often depending on the load size. Adjustments are a little time consuming.
But I've had no issues with rubbing or wear on my pup. The straps are well padded.
If you are in between sizes, SIZE DOWN

I have to rave about this tent! I've owned my Apex 3 for six-seven years now (back when they were orange). I have right around 100 nights in this tent and every night has been dry on the inside, regardless of the weather outside!
The double vestibules are awesome. I camp in this year-round and it is really nice to put the boots and sleds under the vestibules when returning to camp.
The tent has nice BIG teardrop doors that work excellent!
Last winter I got caught in a storm with 70 MPH winds and 12 inches of heavy snow. 2 days later I took my tent down and noticed that my tent pole broke in the cold weather and high winds. The pole was broken but the tent stayed erect for 2 more days like nothing was wrong! I called Eureka and told them what happened. They said that my tent is obviously out of warranty, but they replaced my poles for $7.
This is the best tent ESPECIALLY for the money! C'mon! Love this shelter!

I got this bell to keep tempo with my singing during my hikes. It works similar to a metronome, which keeps the beat so my flow is sick!!!
Onetime on the trail, a group of travelers stumbled into my campsite and mentioned that they heard me singing and playing my bell. They told me how great and unique my sound was and then asked me if I wanted to jam with them.
We rocked around the campfire all night. I could see through the hearts and souls of complete strangers through the dancing and music being made that night.
Those strangers are now close friends of mine and I even met my wife, Moonbeam through one of them. We now have son, Chickpea and he's also learning to play the bell.
You never know where life is going to take you.
Thanks Counter Assault Bells!!

Positives: The fit is great, they're comfortable, the ergonomic fit is awesome.
Negatives: The French button - if you're not wearing a belt your pants will come unbuttoned when you squat or bend. The material - I had the cuffs, pockets, and butt frayed within a few wears. The look - I washed these pants and forgot to put them in the dryer one night. Once they were dry, I now permanently have crease marks all over the pants.
Options: Marmot makes great ergonomic pants at this price point, but they have some stretch. Carhartts and Patagonia work wear pants are great if you want something a little more burly. If you can afford it and you're willing to drop the cash, Fjallraven pants are the best outdoor/everyday-wear pant on the market!

We need to talk about this shirt
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: Runs large
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 155 lbs

I normally like to own my gear for a while before I review it. I only bought this shirt a week ago, but we're gonna do this thang RIGHT NOW!
I went fishing and golfing in Northern Minnesota last weekend and I didn't take this bad boy off. I have a lot of tattoos, so I like to keep them out of the sun as much as possible.
I buy A LOT of Patagonia and I am a true Medium in their line. However, knowing that this shirt runs a little big and given that it is a sun shirt, which I wont be wearing any other shirts under, I sized down to a Small. Fits like a glove.
The pockets are well placed, the material is light, the craftsmanship is on point, every stich is perfect, and the collar!!! This thing has a double rolled, meaning it double unrolls to cover your entire neck. So you don't need a buff in the sun.
I highly recommend sizing down and buying this shirt!

I Dig 'Em - EDIT

Edit - I decided to write a review on the boot "as is" rather than the "old vs. new" design of the boot.
These boots are really great! The support is great and the soles are better than any vibram sole I have. I did add Super feet (green) to these, but that's only because I have high arches and I would need extra support in any boot.
These are 100% water proof.
These are great once they're broken in, but the break in period is painful and painfully long! Get these wet and wear them on some walks with a thick sock to break them in. Allow time for a break in period before planning a long hike.
These are not as breathable as other waterproof boots.
These boots run small and I would recommend going a FULL size up to accommodate a nice sock.

Someone gave this watch a bad review because they couldn't figure out how to set the time......... SMH, Disregard that review.
This is the best watch I have ever owned and I will tell you why:
This watch is incredibly burly, yet ridiculously comfortable to wear. The glass is damn near impossible to scratch and the nylon strap can be removed and thrown into the washing machine! You can also go to momentumwatch.com and buy other straps for it too if you like to swap out colors. I think they offer black, green, blue, & orange.
Now the pins that hold the head of the watch to the strap are spring loaded. I hit the side of my watch really good on a coffee table and one of the pins popped out. Luckily I found it and I was able to put it back in, but that got me to thinking, what if the pin popped out and I couldn't find it? I went to Momentum's website and couldn't find any hard wear, so I called them 1-800-663-1881 (Momentum's customer service line). I told the lady that I loved the watch but I have a concern about the pins. She said she totally understands my concern and she is going to mail me 4-5 backup pins to have on hand (for free)!
Redeemed! I love our friendly neighbors up north (the watch is made in Canada). I can't put into words how much I love this watch and how great the customer service is from both Momentum and Backcountry. Stop looking at other watches and buy this one. #permagrin

I love this sweater and I find myself wearing it on almost a daily basis.
Super warm! Warmest sweater you will own.
The sweater is reinforced in all of the important places ~ arm cuff, elbows, waist, collar.
It is a very typical Patagonia garment and it is an athletic fit. If you know how Patagonia clothes fit you, you'll have no problem with this sizing. It does not run large, it just doesn't run fitted.
I highly recommend this product. You'll get your money out of it!

Every Trip

This is the lightest jacket you will ever own. I prefer a mid layer WITHOUT a hood, which is why I picked this nano over the hooded version.
This jacket is surprisingly warm, but very breathable making it perfect for every trip.
I have also had this jacket soaking wet many times and it is dry within the hour.
I am from Minnesota, where the temps become incalculable in the wintertime with the wind chill. I layer this nano under a heavy jacket when the temps are below zero. I layer under a hard shell when I am in the mountains or out snowboarding. I layer under a soft shell if I am in dryer conditions or paddling a canoe in colder weather. This nano is fine to wear by itself when hiking and needing something that will breath.
It also comes along with me on summer trips where I can wear it early in the morning when it's still chilly.
It is so versatile and light that I immediately throw it in my bag before EVERY trip. I don't leave home without it.

My buddy (who I damn near live with) picked these pants up in late November when we were on a winter camping trip in Northern Minnesota.
Honestly, I thought he was an idiot for dropping $150 on a pair of pants, but he was so happy! He wouldn't shut up about them.
I thought they were goofy looking and the "some assembly required" with adding the wax and melting it to a $150 pair of pants gave me plenty of ammo to make fun of my buddy anytime he started to boast about his new purchase.
Fast forward to last weekend (3/31/2017). We were in Southern Minnesota Fly Fishing the driftless area. It was pouring rain all weekend and to top it off, this same guy with these goofy pants got a slow leak in the butt of his waiters. We still fished from 9am to 8pm with his leaky waiters. At the end of the day his waiters came off, filled with water, but the goofy pants (which he was wearing underneath) were dry! The parts of the goofy pants that were wet, dried almost immediately!
***Needless to say, my goofy pants just arrived last night! I am sold.***
So now for the review:
Apparently people are having an issue with the sizing. Go to the Fjallraven website. They have a size calculator for their pants. Type in your height/weight/pants you like/cut you like. They'll give you your size, then you come back here to backcountry.com and get your free 2 day shipping, brah!
I will say that I am 5'11'' and the regular length fit me perfect. If I was an inch taller I would go with the long cut.
NO BACK POCKETS YOU SAY!!!??? You shouldn't keep things in your back pockets anyways. It's bad for your back.
The gaiter straps at the bottom are really nice for snowy or wet conditions, the pockets are super deep and well placed, the material is lite/breathable/moisture wicking/water repellent (I sound like my friend).
Read the reviews about the wax and apply liberally in the winter/ wash out in the Summer.
I am very happy with the purchase of my goofy pants and I look forward to putting them through the wringer!
(did you read all this?)

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Fit: Runs small
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 150 lbs
Size Purchased: 32x5

I figured I would write a review while I am online returning these shorts. I am 5'11'' 150lbs. Normally I wear a 30" waist, sometimes a 31" waist in everything. I originally ordered these in a 30x5 and I am 3" shy of even getting them buttoned. I am returning them to the great people at backcountry for a 32x5 and I think that will still be a tight fit, but I can't go to 34x5.
Why 5 stars? These are awesome and I cannot wait to get a size back that fits!! The material was great, the legs were roomy (without being clown shorts), and the craftsmanship is up to par with Patagonia standards.
Late February in MN and I will have the right size back by the weekend! I love you, Backcountry!
