Perfect pack for Multi-Day Hikes
4 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have long since been a fan of the Fjallraven clothing line, so I took up the challenge and took this bag on a trip to complete the Fjallraven Classic in Sweden. 5 Days and over 100km of Hiking, plus an additional 10 days of going between Norway and Sweden, this bag's design was easily accessible for all my needs. There are few pockets, which will be found on the detachable lid, allowing the full storage capacity go to the main body. The Two main compartment zippers open the bag up for easy unloading, and the compartment is easily compressible where during your hikes you won't feel like you're lugging around a large capacity bag. The bottom sleeping bag compartment is lined with netting that was nice for storing my passport and rarely used items during the hike.

I have become a fan of everything Fjallraven over the past few years. These pants truly hold up through endurance challenges of GoRuck, as well as the demands of being on the job site. These pants have held up from snow to sandy beaches, but they do need to be washed according to instructions. I have had pairs degrade due to regular washing.

The insulation on this jacket has worked great as a base layer skiing down the slopes, as well as a comfortable jacket to wear around camp and chatting with friends. The synthetic insulation holds heat as promised even after a good sweat from a work out, and packs nicely into the crevices of my backpack.

Great shovel for cutting through the crud and scooping away the loose debris, but would not recommend for a snow study tool. The shape of the scoop and blade were difficult to create a smooth and level surface for study.

I used this beacon for an AIARE Lvl. 1 course and it did the job as far as ease of use, accuracy and send/receive, but when put under the gun the beacon can easily be knocked back into send when trying to search for the victim. The straps when worn for intended use make it difficult as well to go from a send to emergency search mode. I found it better worn at the waste with the elastic straps attached at the waist like a lanyard.
