Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I was looking for a softshell that would be mostly for casual wear - less technical than many of those designed primarily for active sport use. Mtn. Hardwear almost nailed it with the Speedstone. I was pretty excited when I first tried it on. Non-oversized scuba hood is great. Clean lines, nice pocket placement, solid color, unobtrusive logo. All great. I'm 6 ft, 5 in. tall, 175 lbs, and the large fit nicely. Jacket has plenty of stretch and is very comfortable and light-weight. Then, I noticed the fatal flaw. The zipper does not come up over my neck at all. It stops just below the clavicle, leaving a large open gap for wind and cold. 2 more inches of zipper height, and I would have the ideal jacket for my purposes. I just couldn't accept this compromise to get all the other nice qualities. A jacket needs to be functional above all else, so I sadly returned it. I'll probably end up with a Mtn. Hardwear Super Chockstone jacket, which is not as ideal in appearance for casual use, but is fully functional and even has a slimmer fit (which is good for me).

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size
Height: 6' 5"
Weight: 195 lbs
Size Purchased: L

My daughter bought this for me as a gift after seeing me eyeing it on Backcountry. It's now my favorite flannel shirt. The fabric is soft and substantial. Great for winter use as a shirt or indoor shirt/jacket. The blue with grey is a very attractive color and is a modern-looking plaid.

The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that the sleeves are about an inch short after washing/drying. But that's really just a "me" issue because of my long arms. I'm 6' 5" tall, 195 lbs, and the size L was perfect other than the marginal sleeve length. Body length was right-on for wearing untucked.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Fit: True to size

Bought this for my wife for skiing, and she has totally stopped wearing her other jacket (which is a really nice Patagonia shell). This fits her really well, and it does not look bulky despite the insulation. It has proven to be suitably warm for a variety of conditions without overheating (like some down jackets). The hood works perfectly over a helmet, and she likes to hunker down behind the nice high collar on the chairlift when the wind is blasting. She also likes the longer length for warmth and as a snow barrier. (And I think the length makes her look taller and slimmer, although she is perfect as is.) She tried a medium and a large, and while the medium looked fine to me, she decided on the large so she could easily layer a heavy fleece under for those 0 degree F days. (She is about 5' 6" and around a size 10 in outerwear.)
I paid full price and thought is was a well worth it. At the sale price I see now, it is an outstanding value for the quality.
