Caught my first trout on this!!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got this for a killer deal and figured I couldn't lose. And I didn't. I'm a totally new fly fisherman and am still very low on the steep learning curve. A guide told me to splurge on nice boots and waders and not the rod and reel. While you CAN spend a fortune on that stuff, this rod and reel combo have been working just fine for me. The reel is pretty smooth, rod is light and goes together easy. Comes with storage tube also.

I did have an issue where I dropped the rod on a black sand beach in Yellowstone and some grit got into the reel. I opened it up and cleared it out and boom, good as new.

The only downside seems to be the reel doesn't pop apart easy like the metal ones, so you can't just switch spools on it. But if you're new to fly fishing or want a backup rod / reel, this will more than suffice.

Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 140 lbs
Size Purchased: small

Soft, brushed flannel. Fits my monkey long arms without being baggy. Girlfriend loves it and I assume my beard will come in thicker now that I own this. Eagerly awaiting chilly weather to throw this on like a bear pelt.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this to prevent cross-loading while belaying. It's light, strong, and did a decent job preventing cross loading. However. I was using it with an ATC-guide (didn't read instructions carefully, haha). Anyway, the bad thing is it wore out in about 8 months of 1-2x a week use. The rope just ran huge grooves into it and I didn't get the lifespan out of it I was hoping for. Of course, it's on me for using it with an ATC.

Good belt. Cutting off the excess and burning the end was easy. Best thing is once you cinch it tight, it stays tight all day -- doesn't loosen like some other d ring belts. All day traveling, canyoneering, hiking, this thing doesn't loosen.

I got these gloves for cheap, intending to use them canyoneering in southern Utah. Well, sirs, I neglected to wear them through one technical slot. After about an hour, my hands were raw, in odd places.

So the next canyon I threw these on and wow, totally saved my hands! Also, pretty good grip for sandstone walls, webbing, and ropes. Now I am using them as belay gloves.

My only complaint is the fingertips are already fraying a bit, after only about two weeks of heavy use. That being said, at the $12 I paid for them that's still a heck of a bargain.

I got these from S&C a month or so ago. I really have always been pleased with Stoic products. I wore them for 7 days straight on a canyoneering / backpacking trip to SE Utah last week.

Well let me say that as I got scruffy, dirty, and smelly, my overhang pants still looked amazing. By the last day, it almost looked like I had just put on a fresh pair of pants - not like I had been wearing them (and sleeping in them) for a week.

I did a lot of bushwhacking, fighting through scratchy pion and juniper, as well as scrambling on various kinds of rock. These pants held up great - no tears, scratches, runs, etc. They were warm enough for cool nights but not so hot during the day (temps in 70s, lots of sun), that I felt overheated.

Quick word on the sizing - I usually wear a 30 X 32 pant, and don't like to baggy or too skinny on my legs. These pants fit the bill. I had to use a belt, but I would estimate these were probably about a 31 X 32 unstretched. Nice leg fit too - not so baggy I felt ridiculous, but not so tight as to be constricting or anything.

HIGHLY recommended
