I like skiing with a brake, I like that the design of the Zed lets the user choose. On some reviews you'll notice people complaining about the rattle, but, they don't explain much. The brake can rattle a bit while the binding is not engaged. But, when you step in to decent, or take your first step on ascent, the brake is secured down and works perfectly.

I like that g3 continues to experiment with new design and material. They are smaller and lighter than previous skins. Careful when you pack them up; make sure the white plastic tip is straight, cause it tends to hold it's shape a bit in the cold. That could end up with some snow creep.

not sure how others are having troubles with the binding, most of I've seen are user error.
you will notice reviews about the brake system (not included), they sorta rattle a bit when the brake is down and you're not on the ski. But, they lock in place touring, or while descending. So, unless you ahve the ski in your hand and you're shaking it... no problems.
I ski at ~250lbs and have loved them.

this ski is like a good coach. You sorta can't slack off while hanging out with this weapon. Gotta ski hard, fast, agressive, and stay out of the back seat. If you're ready to get sendy, it's ready. If you're out for lazy laps with children they might be a little too much.
all that said, they are pretty rad. I like em, they made me a better skier

When coasting over a flat part of a skin track I'm always able to glide and catch up to skinners ahead of me. On steep parts of the track I'm confident where others are bracing on their poles. Tip and tail clips are effective reliable and versatile.
If you're lazy on a storm/windy day you can get less than perfect glue condition, but that's more user error than gear failure. Treat em well, and they'll treat you well.

Let's face it. No ski is going to rally down a groomer with the best edge and sidecut while offering ideal flotation and control in deep snow. But, if your always hunting powder/chop/soft resort conditions. This ski is your ski. It's firm, lively, holds it's edge well, and preforms fantastic in deep snow at high and low speed.
Don't buy it for gate racing, but for the powderhound, it's perfect.

Every person loved different aspects of different shovels. but, I love that it's both the simplified reliable emergency shovel that I hope to never need. It's not going to break with a metal blade, and you can move a huge amount of snow with it's broad width.
It's also a solid version of the shovel you use daily in the backcountry to dig pits, build a winter camp. high fives all round

After skiing this as my only tech binding for 3 years (I'm a g3 athlete), I've only ever had issues with the brake icing a little and being stuck up after transitioning skin-ski.
Beyond that, I've found it effective for both releases when it should when I crash, and maybe 2 unwanted pre-releases over 200 days of skiing.
Beyond that, it's light, durable, and has a better heel riser design than other tech bindings I've used, which are difficult to flip.
