I was able to make pancakes on my msr pocket rocket stove with this pan! It distributes the heat evenly and has an awesome non-stick coating that makes cooking and cleanup incredibly easy in the backcountry! You will be eating like a king/queen with this pan!

FAST
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I took this helmet out for a weekend of biking in Moab and let me tell you, I was FAST. This helmet is very versatile so you can take it from commuting to road biking to cross country trails! It is definitely not the most burly helmet on the market for mountain biking, but the MIPS concussion technology is a game changer and made me feel super safe on the technical Moab terrain. I also really like that this helmet doesn't have a built in visor because it allowed me to wear my brim hat underneath very comfortably.
There is no question about it, the Smith Network helmet, paired with some pit vipers and you too will be able to lift your bike over your head. https://www.backcountry.com/pit-viper-pit-viper-sunglasses-polarized?

This headlamp is an awesome addition to any ultralight kit. Its so small and compact that there is no excuse not to throw it in your pack just in case! The three light settings are very versatile-- low enough not to blind your friends around camp and bright enough for on the trail. I really like the self adjusting band, however, if you tend to wear your headlamp around your neck it is very uncomfortable. The only downsides to this headlamp are that it is not rechargeable and its not the brightest headlamp on the market. Petzl makes the Bindi headlamp if you are looking for a step up from the Zipka and willing to pay more.

Luxury
4 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used this bag on fall desert trip when the temps got down to freezing at night (I am a very cold person). This sleeping bag has a lot of bells and whistles which is really nice, but I would only recommend it for car camping because of how much it weighs and the amount of space it takes up. It is the Cadillac of sleeping bags, but sometimes you just need a Subaru.

PROS
-It has a sleeve that your sleeping pad slides into so that you don't roll off your pad in the middle of the night.
-There is a pocket inside the sleeping bag for your cell phone so that it stays warm to preserve the battery life in cold temps.
-It is synthetic, so it holds its warmth even if it gets wet.

CONS
-It takes up a lot of space, even in a stuff sack.
-It is pretty heavy (good for car camping but not backpacking)

Overall, I think it is a great bag for car camping, but if you are planning on doing any backpacking I would go with a down bag with less bells and whistles to save on space and weight.

Holy Grail
5 5

I have had my Rumpl down blanket for about a year now and it has been my favorite piece of gear for fall winter and spring adventures. I am a very cold person, so this blanket has saved me on multiple occasions. When I am winter camping, I stuff it inside my sleeping bag for extra warmth. I also use it for my dog when we are camping in cooler weather. She might love the Rumpl even more than me! When we aren't camping, this blanket lives on my bed as a comforter and keeps me warm doing homework on the front porch! I think having more than one Rumpl blanket is necessary. One for me, one for my dog!

Bought these for my momma and she says: These Blundstones make me so happy! So comfortable even upon first wear and they fit true to size which is great because I get nervous ordering online without trying on shoes in person. The shiraz color is a fall dream--the color of eggplant or plums; not too bright or muted. I think they make the perfect statement and enhance all my outfits from the streets to the mountains. I could wear these anywhere... and I plan on doing just that!!

I just might have to buy myself a pair!

These are light weight and robust. I like that you can customize the firmness by deciding how many cross pieces to install. Once I get this dialed in, I'll leave the extras at home to save even more weight. I'll be much happier carrying these than my old cots, since the are a 75% reduction in weight! They fit in smaller space, too, so they fit well in the dry bag for river trips. There are two trade offs for the low weight: more effort (but not terrible) to set up and they are low to the ground, so tougher to get out of. All in all, though, I think these will be great.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got these to replace my Mayari Birks that I have worn every day during the summer for the last five years. I have a few styles of Birkenstocks and these are by far the most comfortable for walking because they don't slide off your feet at all. My older Mayaris that are now falling apart, are the vegan leather material. I sized down in these and they fit perfect. I have heard that the vegan leather gets more smelly than the normal leather, hence why I bought the real leather this time. I will report back in 6 months or so on the smell of my birks :)

I bought this jacket in the mens style instead of the womens because I like the relaxed fit of the sleeves. I have worn this a ton as an evening layer in the summer, backpacking in Glacier National Park and on a week-long rafting trip on the Main Salmon. It does a good job of cutting the wind but is very breathable and lightweight. It also stays super warm when it gets wet!

I replaced my 6 year old chacos with these new mega z clouds when they first came out. I was excited about the thick strap because I remembered my original chacos taking so long to break in. They did not disappoint! These were comfortable straight out of the box, no need to break them in or fiddle with the straps! They feel just as secure as the chacos with a toe strap when hiking.

I liked them so much I ordered my mom a pair! She has always hated the feeling of having a strap between her toes. These shoes converted her from a lifetime of Tevas to being a Chaco lover!

I really LOVE the material of these leggings! They are super light weight and feel like you are not wearing anything. I got them for running and hiking in the summer when it is warm and they are great for that! They are very low-rise in comparison to most leggings. The waist also feels a little snug on me and I definitely don't have wide hips. I am coming to like the low rise because it is not tight on the middle of my stomach which I hate, but they do ride down more because of the low rise, which isn't ideal. Overall, I would purchase again because it is really hard to find leggings that are light enough to wear in the summer and have pockets for your keys or phone!

These are by far my favorite shorts! I like the high rise and the wide waistband because it makes them super flattering and comfortable. They don't fall down or ride up when I run and hike. The material is super light weight and stretchy. I took them on a week-long rafting trip and they dried super quick! I would highly recommend these shorts for ALL activities!

Wow this is so yummy! It is packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice (if you like things spicy). It is very high in calories and sugar, so its perfect after long days on the trail. I ate mine on a rafting trip and couldn't quite finish the whole 2 serving package, but I definitely would have if I had been hiking all day!

I bought this bike lock because there are a ton of bike thefts in my neighborhood and my cable lock was not going to cut it. This is a smaller U-lock, which makes it easier to throw in your backpack when you are riding around town, but also not as versatile when you are trying to lock your bike in unconventional places. I definitely have peace of mind that my bike won't get swiped!
