Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Works well. I had to buy this for my Karakoram Prime Connect-SF bindings.

Crab grab is pretty awesome for slapping down in certain spots for that nice hold. I also use one on my toe-side edge that doubles as a grip for your feet while you’re one-footed. After putting many days on these, I haven’t had any issue with them peeling off or wearing down.
The Holden Scout is the coolest snowboard jacket I’ve ever owned! I have a slight problem with buying too many jackets, so I have lots to compare it with. I’d consider this jacket to be a slight step up from a shell because it does have a thin layer of insulation, as my other shells don’t quite give me warmth. I’ve worn this on warm blue bird days and freezing cold night shreds at Brighton Resort, and if you are in 0-15 degree conditions, layer up! On warmer days, you can rock this on just a long sleeve and if that gets too hot, you can unzip the side zippers and get some nice full body ventilation going! I really like the length of the sleeves for fitting nice over my gloves. Kangaroo pocket is cool as well for putting lens cloths, phones, beers, etc. I am 5’11”, 160 pounds, and the large is nice for putting layers on underneath, but isn’t baggy when just wearing it by itself. Some cons would be that there is no powder skirt, which I find essential for those deep pow days, and not much for inside pockets. All in all, this jacket looks sweet, is very comfy, and fits best out of any jacket I’ve owned so far!
I have a few different face masks for whatever conditions the gods decide to bring that day, and this is my warm day mask. I prefer to always have a face mask on when I’m riding, and my thicker masks are just too much for those sunny blue birds. This one is very thin so if you’re like me, you will not want to be using this when it is snowing or just cold temperatures. I initially thought I would like having the precut hole for breathing, but this is one thing I do not like about it. When I’m riding the hole moves side to side as I turn my head and kind of defeats the purpose. If you have a helmet that is just a shell without padding inside, you will also want to wear a beanie for a little extra pad between your dome and the helmet. If you are looking for something light to keep some sun or a wind chill off of you, this is overall a good option to consider.
I am very particular with what kind of lens I like to use while shredding, and if there is cloud coverage, I don’t like any tint on my lens. I used these while it was cloudy then the sun came out, and that was a little brutal on my eyes so beware of that. Taking these in and out is a bit of a challenge and takes some force for it to snap out, but they are 100% secure and are not going to fall out that’s for sure. If you are a night-shredder, these are incredible and I think are a must for seeing in the spotty light. I highly recommend picking up one of these lenses to have in your bag at all times!
I got these for my brother as a Christmas gift. He is a couple of tours in with these bindings and he said they work great. They have a traditional Union feel but they do wiggle a little when you're in ride mode, feels like your bindings are loose. He has a size 11 boot so I got the large and they fit well. Plus the bindings do have a few adjustments to match up better with your boot. The quick forward lean adjustment is new and allows you to take long steps feely on the hike up. Also he mentioned that snow can get jammed where the metal pin rests so you need to keep that clear and ice free. Union splitboard bindings are here to stay, I cant wait to try them out.
He rides a Jones Explorer split 158cm.
I use this as an insulating layer for skiing and snowboarding and it works perfect under my shell. It is super light weight. I was worried that wearing a tshirt under this would be uncomfortable but it feels great. No hood is nice for layering and the small baffles allow easy movement. Can't go wrong with Patagonia.
I have used this stove before and wanted to get one for myself. The flash is perfect for quick boil food and drink on the trail or at the campsite. I have heard the ignitor on these stoves goes out but I feel like that is the most common and trivial part of the stove to break. It is crazy fast so no more waiting for hot water in the morning. Great personal stove for the trail!
These BD Spark mitttens do the job! I would consider my hands large hands so I got the XL, great fit. I use these gloves for skiing and snowboarding in Utah and they keep my hands warm and dry even in single degree temps. They are leather on the outside, with a neoprene cuff that is adjustable with the velcro strap to seal out the snow. On the inside is a fleece liner with finger slits. They feel pretty light and easy to move in compared to my old gloves (backountry wasatch gloves). I've used them for maybe 10 days on the mountain. The only negative I can see with these is that the snot pad on the thumb can get covered in snow rendering the feature useless. These gloves are great and I would still recommend these to a friend or anyone who wants to spend all day on the mountain.
Board: Jones Ultra Mountain Twin 158
Boot: Vans infuse size 11
These are the best bindings that I have ever used. So responsive and so comfy! They are a classic Union binding, now with an even smaller base plate. I really enjoy the way these bindings move when riding them. They are everything I was expecting. You will not be let down with these bindings.
I have used this shovel for digging snow pits in the back country and I also keep it in the car in case of emergencies. This shovel moves snow well and packs easily into my 38L backpack with all the necessities. I like the fixed handle because the shovel feels more solid and there are less pieces to break or lose. Good shovel, good price!
These Smarty Pants are great. I needed to upgrade my snow pants this year and went with these. They fit great and come with a zip-in sweatpants liner. I have used the snow pants with the liner and without, both ways work great and either way they feel nice and light. Having cargo pants works nicely for carrying riding supplies without inhibiting any motion. I wear size 32in pants and the medium fits great with a little room on either side to adjust. Quality build, decent price!
I got this as a gift for a family member. They use this jacket as an insulating layer for snowboarding or to get around in the cold. It fits nicely under a jacket but can also stand alone. The narrow baffles make the jacket less bulky. Two zippered hand pockets, a zippered chest pocket and 2 Shove-it pockets! Also the adjustable hood is a great feature. Easy gift!
These Smith helmets are great and they look sweet! I got this for a family member who rides in the northeast, they love it. The visor helps keep the cold air out while the helmet is designed to vent hot air up from the top vents. The helmet has removable ear pads and is beanie compatible if you like that style. The colors are sweet and the matte finish look so cool.
I got this as a gift for my family member. You can't go wrong with these! So many choices to choose from but all great products. The I/O7s are larger than the I/Os for people who have larger faces. The field of vision is great and the chromopop is such a nice lens making it easier to ride through flat light. I would recommend these for anyone looking to upgrade their goggles.
Airblaster makes great products and this Beast jacket is no exception! I was looking for a shell jacket that would provide protection for exploring in the wet weather. I use this for snowboarding mainly but it looks so darn good that I want to wear it everywhere. I would prefer the hood to be helmet compatible so snowboarding but it still works.
Some key features on this jacket:
3 layer EcoVortex - This is top of the line waterproofing. Water beads right off this jacket and with the three payer construction, the jacket feels super nice inside.
Articulated - It moves with you. I love how mobile and light this jacket is!
Removable snow skirt - For when you want to wear it casually.
I got the large because I have a long torso and arms. Great fit!
You know how sometimes you wear a helmet and it feels like it is just resting on top of your head? No more! This Watts helmet is like slipping into a nice fitting pair of shoes for your noggin. I removed the inner lining and use a hood underneath the helmet to stay warm. The visor loos great and keep my gaper gap under control. I have a large head and a lot of hair so I went for the large and it fits great. I use it for snowboarding but it seems like the helmet would be used for summer activities as well.
The X2 goggles are great. I had an old pair of Electric EG2 goggles and decided to upgrade to these. I have not been let down! These goggles look sick and fit so nicely. I have about the same field of vision compared to my EG2s but the lens change really stands out with the X2. It is so easy to change out the lenses and I trust the Swiftlock system to not hold the lens securely. The lens has fogged up when I go inside the ski lodge but they are quick to un-fog.
These are sweet, I use them when I hike, snowboard and just about anything else. They work nicely and have polygiene to keep your clothes from stinking! I would recommend!
Sweet T-shirt made with a polyester and spandex blend so it feels super light and athletic. The designs are classic, I feel like I could wear this anywhere. These shirts are made with polygiene technology so they don't stink as long as you dry the shirt overnight or by the river or something. I have a long torso so I ordered the large and it fits just right. Get one!
