Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
I bought this boot for snowbiking because my previous pair of Vasque boots have worn out. The boot is very light and stiff, which is usually good for biking. Warmth is not an issue down to about zero or even 10 below Fahrenheit. I do not have any all day long use experience with this boot. The one issue for me is that the upper part of the boot can feel pretty tight around the shin bone area and is uncomfortable when fully laced up, not so much around the ankle area as others have noted. The main issue was a rubbing around the shin when stepping forward. I almost considered sending them back. However, here are some suggestions that might not work for everyone, but did work for me. I tried lacing up and skipping one of the eyelets at the top and this helped with comfort. Then I tried skipping the top two eyelets and it was even better, pretty much perfect as far as comfort. . Because I usually have a velco type closure at the bottom of my winter pants, I can skip the upper eyelets for comfort without worrying about snow getting into the boot. The same would be true if I used a gator. Nevertheless the upper cut of the boot was pretty uncomfortable when laced up completely. I liked everything else about the boot, but this is a design flaw. My previous pair of Vasque boots were always totally comfortable when laced up.
