Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
Height: 6' 0"
Weight: 175 lbs
Size Purchased: 11M

Ya know, I've been a USA Danner fan since 1994 when I drove 25 miles in an ice storm to buy a pair locally. I still have them, they don't look that used really, and they still stand up on their own as a true 8" boot. The sole is still in great condition...

...then 2 years ago at an LL Bean store in New Hampshire, a salesman tried to turn me on to a pair of Oboz. I chose a different boot, that I later exchanged for the Oboz Bridger. WOW! I now in 2 years have 5 pairs of Oboz and my wife has
a pair of the Bridgers as well, that she really likes.

Fit-The arch felt a tad odd, like my heel was cradled in a slightly lower recess.
I was skeptical that this new found arch support would go the distance, without
hurting my joints like the die hard USA made Danners had began to do.
Every time I switch back to one of my several pairs of Danners, my hip knees or back disagree with my choice.

These Oboz, I can't even notice this arch support I first noticed when I put them on or any length of wearing. They work in unison with my body now,
right out of the box, or 18 months to 2 years old (I do rotate my footwear).

The heal is locked into a more narrow channel, and the toe box is perfect for my foot. Comfortable all day

Heat- some yes, but they breathe better or are less hot than the ventilated Wind River Oboz I just got last week. The comfort over rides any heat for me.

Performance-So far no issues with the BDry water proofing.
All day comfort to get you back to camp, or through an all day theme park excursion, shopping with the wife and standing in line for hours.

Highly recommended! Many thanks to the salesman who tsuggested Oboz Hiking.

Very disappointed that their Winter protection does not exceed minimal protection from the cold. Can't say good bye to a trusted friend till that problem is corrected! Bring on the EXTREME Winter protection Oboz!!! Greater than 400g too...please?!

Comfortable out of the box, but the 1st day wear I felt a break in was inevitable with bruising of the mid foot or arch.

There's good support for the arch especially with the heel cradled in a what feels like a slightly sunken recess.
The boots are lightweight yet feel confident under foot.
A new go to boot for sure.

They are sized perfectly. I wear an 11M in Danner, Vasque most Merrell, Mammut, and these follow suit, and I like the no nonsense lacing aspect. Lacing the toe box is
a different story, not much control there, but the toe box is right for my personal foot.
A very contoured fitted boot I feel.

As for the insulation, put it this way…I would not want to be
caught out below 30ºF. or upper 20's anyway for very long.
In a delivery truck for 3.5 hrs at 20º my toes got very cold,
which turns out to be what I was looking for really.
I didn't want a boot to make me sweat in transitional temperatures.

Also I have to add, that the boot is an 8" boot only by a technicality.
Most of the boot is less than 8" which again, for me was quite fine.
I have boots to deal with the cold of Winter and the depth of snow.
These just aren't them.

So far the grip has been positive, but no snow in our area yet this year.
I will definitely buy another pair of Oboz without insulation for the warmer months.
