This will be my third pair of Altra's, with this update being one of the best, adding features that greatly aid in the run or hike. One of my favorite new additions, is that the tongue is completely sewn into the upper on one side; meaning that it does not move around at all through-out the run. One of my pet peeves is when a tongue moves around or bunches up while using the shoe; and this totall elimantes that.
The front of the shoe seems a bit more burly, with the toe guard being quite tough and I have hit it a number of times on rocks and trees. I would also advise on putting the rock guard in as the soles are a bit soft without it, and a sharp rock can be easily felt. The mid-sole has been supportive but also supply at the same time without being to soft. Overall this is an amazing update and I would suggest Altra's to anyone looking for an essential minimalist shoe.

This is the first camp pillow I have found that does not give me a neck-ache! The down is amazing and packs down quite small; it comes with an attached stuff sack with a cinch cord. The down also lofts up fast and stays like that un-packed. It does go down when you lay on it, but provides enough support throughout the night.

Personally, I prefer this pillow to all of the inflatable pillows I have tried. Every inflatable pillow has given me a neck-ache as it is stuck on a single firmness. This down pillow moves with you, supporting your head and neck in various positions.

This is a nice different version of the stretch zion pant, with the main part being that it is skinnier and straight leg. I was expecting the legs to be skinny but was surprised by how tight they actually are. The tightness is not bad since they stretch and breathe exceptionally, but I prefer my pants a bit looser in that area. A great addition to the stretch zion family, and perfect if you are looking for a straighter tighter fit then the standard stretch zion.

Be wary, the sizing on this hat is a bit on the odd side. I tried the L/XL and it was huge, but the S/M fits like a glove. There is no tightening system in the hat, which is a bummer but there is a chin strap to keep it secure.

The hemp material is amazing and is rugged, having a semi-rigid brim. It has the two gusseted holes to aid with breathing, and the hemp is more breathable then expected. Over-all this is a great stylish hat.

These bars are amazing! I have been a fan of cliff bar for years, decided to give these a try and was blown away. Besides being delicious, they are extremely filling for what it is. You can literally taste the ingredients in these! One bar will be plenty for a hike or other medium length adventure, and I often split the bar in half. I will be getting more of these for sure!

I have tried a number of energy gummies/chews and these are hands-down the best that I have found. They provide natural energy, without that jittery feeling, and taste great! Each pack has two servings in it as well, and 4-5 of these gummies are perfect for anything from a work-out to a concert. I highly recommend these.

These have quickly become my go-to softshell pants for a variety of winter activities. I primarily use them for cross country skiing, but they also work great for general winter activities and hiking. I wear these with a pair of light-weight tights and they work great for xc skiing, and I was surprised by how breathable they actually are. The two large zippers on the legs are great for venting, and the options suspenders are great to help keep them in place. These do fit a bit on the tighter side of things, and have slimmer legs which is fine for a lean build. Over-all these are an amazing pair of softshell pants, perfect for a variety of winter activities, and have a number of features that make them easy to use.

This has quickly become my go-to base layer for winter activities, and will soon become one for spring as well. My favorite feature of this hoodie, is its temperature regulation. Its amazing at breathing when you become hot, and wicks moisture away through the merino wool. ON the flip-side, it keeps you warm if the temps begin to drop, and stands up to light gusts. I am a huge fan of the quarter-zip, and it is a deep opening, which allows for extreme venting. This has a tighter fit to it, and this is perfect for a piece like this. Overall a fantastic base-layer, that is great for a variety of technical activities.

Ever since seeing Last of the Mohicans as a child, I have been fascinated by tomhawks. Now I have my own pair and the fascination is living up to all its expectations. This is fun to throw around solo or with friends, for a few minutes to even longer. Great construction, holds an edge well, and the carrying case has a low profile design.

This is an amazing lighter-weight down jacket. It is a European fit, so it is a bit on the smaller side so I would suggest sizing up, and it is more of a tight fit which I like in a down jacket. It has a very burly construction, but is extremely light; coming with a stuff sack about the size of a 32 oz water bottle. This is a down jacket that can hold up to the elements, with the material being both wind-proof and water-resistant. One of my favorite features is the hoot, which is a nice adjustable brim and also a high collar. Overall this is a great jacket that is technical without being over kill; able to be worn into the office, but also taken on a winter excursion.

I got this jacket last year and it quickly became one of my favourite jackets. It has quite alot of warmth, and stands up to wind and water, with the synthetic insulation. It is a bit on the puffier side of things and would be comparable to a normal down jacket. The welded baffle construction is amazing at eliminating cold spots. This jacket did great for a variety of activities from snow blowing during a storm, to walking the dog on a windy day.

I grew up seeing my parents and grandparents wear Pendleton, and never understanding why they always wore their sweaters. Now that I have one of my own, it is easy to understand. This sweater is extremely comfortable and not itchy at all, despite being heavy wool and the stitching is burly. The deep v-neck is great for ventilation, with the buttons easy to secure. The fit is more on the loose side, which is expected for a sweater. My favorite thing about this are the colors; which are vibrant, have an amazing pattern, and garner compliments everytime I wear it in public. This has quickly become my favorite sweater and will be a piece in my closet for decades to come.

This is my favorite cooking set I have ever used, with it being extremely light-weight for what it comes with. Everything fits inside the large pot, with pieces you would not have even known would be useful; like the cutting board and dish dryer stand. The bowls, plates, and sporkes are nice durable plastics that wash up easily. The frying pan works great, but watch out as the handle heats up fast. Overall a great camping cook set that I take with me on every trip, and has everything I need to prepare and enjoy food.

This is a great duffel and has quickly become my go-to for weekend trips or shorter car camping trips. The size is perfect for necessary clothes, a couple of jackets, and a handful of random items. The material on it is nice and tough, with the bottom being even more reinforced. I was surprised by how nice the handle feels in hand, as they are usually pretty flimsy, but this one lays nice and flat. The inner pockets are great for keeping tiny items or electronics secured and safe. One of my favorite features is the side pocket with the expandable inner-pocket that goes into the main compartment. This creates a nice separate compartment for storing items, that can expand as you travel or as needed. Over-all this is a great duffel that I would recommend to anyone looking for a versatile, feature-packed, burly bag.
