LOVE at first ride! Part 1
4 5

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

After only having one ride (and having a blast) I am not sure this qualifies as review for the Hightower, but I wanted to take a moment to call out the Backcountry.com team. Bike arrived 95% ready to rock out of the box in 2 days, packed meticulously with extra care and attention to detail. Kudos to the team at Competitive Cyclist for turning it around so quickly and delivering the bike with shock set to my weight and ready to ride after just about 30 minutes of assembly. Because of this fine packing job / quick assembly I was ably to get out on that short test ride. Also wanted to throw a Shout Out to Conner Johnson, the Gearhead whose review helped a ton with the decision to go with this bike. Test Ride # 2 coming up!

Fit: True to size

I love these shoes due to the excellent wrap up and over the heel area keeps my foot in place inside the shoe. The lacing follows the curve of my foot and the toe bumper is bomber. The Outsole is Vibram Megagrip Rubber which is extremely grippy in wet conditions. Great shoes!

This shoe lives in our Approach Category at Garmont, and it is because it can tackle all kinds of terrain- from uneven off trail hiking to scrambling to standing in aiders. The Deep Lug sole offers Hiking boot protection and support in a low cut style. ADD fit means that there is plenty of toe box room, lacing that follows the shape of the foot and a secure heel fit. This model is quite a bit stiffer than the Dragontail LT and has a more rigid outsole for mixed conditions, while the LT is lighter weight and better suited for scrambling on rock.
