4 5

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 190 lbs
Size Purchased: 11.5 US 10.5EU

First and Foremost, the shoes got the 4/5 because they are my first pair of aggressive shoes and I don't have much to compare them to.

Fit: My street shoe is a 12, I have slightly wider foot, and my toes are slightly tapered, Roman. I downsized a half size from my street shoe (like I did with my Evolv Pontas II) The fit is nice not too much in the way of pain, just minor discomfort the first hour or so. I feel like the worst of the break in period is right out of the box. I would say the feeling is the same as far as stretching my Evolvs, if that makes sense.

Climbing: From my little experience with the shoes thus far I can tell you: The toe rubber is a pretty neat, the heel hooks are secure, stiff shoes, edging felt great.

Only con so far is the lack of Boreal swag.. no stickers or nothing?!?! Thank you backcountry.com for the sticker & granola though, you're a real one for sure :P Overall excited to take these bad boys to the sandstone in Red Rock this season.

3months exp, 1st shoe
4 5

I am very new to the sport of climbing, specifically bouldering. I wear a size twelve street shoe, I am flat footed, and fat footed. After reading countless reviews and advice from stronger climbers I went with these bad boys in my street size. Way better than gym the shoes, better heel than the evolv defy, Similar fit to the defy, but a tad more aggressive, which is why I opted out of down sizing them. They did not take more than a few trips to the gym to break them in. Not too much give so far. No smell yet, I've been pretty consistent with powder for the foot sweat. I am in serious like with these, Thanks backcountry.
