This is a nice little pull buoy. Slightly more aerodynamic and feels a little more comfortable. I can't say that it is essential by any means, but I like it better than the classic floats that are common to public pools. Not sure how much more you can innovate on a pretty simple piece of gear.

I purchased this "bottle" for backpacking. It is lightweight, easy to filter water into, and seems quite durable. I like that it compresses nicely and even rolls up when empty so that you can jam it anywhere. Much better than carrying a bunch of regular plastic water bottles on the trail.

I purchased this board to mix things up in the pool. It is slightly less buoyant than the typical kick board and rocks a little side to side when kicking since it is slightly rounded on the bottom. This is supposed to be better for your form. I can't speak to that, but I enjoy using it. I can stretch out a bit more, and it is comfortable. Not life changing, but a nice product that distinguishes itself from the boards that you are probably accustomed to.

Like most reviewers, I find these shoes to be incredibly comfortable. I use them for occasional running as well as an everyday shoe. Pretty stylish and very light. Hard to find something to complain about. I can't speak to how well they would hold up if you were a distance runner, but for everyday use, these are terrific shoes.

I am pretty rigorous about monitoring my heart rate when training on a bike or running, but I have never been able to track it in the pool. I am hoping this will solve the problem. Just purchased it; so I will need to report back on the effectiveness.

I purchased this as a lightweight rain jacket. It is very high quality, a little stiff, but still comfortable in warmer weather over a short-sleeve shirt, for example. Arc'teryx makes a couple other versions that are even lighter if you are looking something minimalist, but I like this as an option that is very durable, completely waterproof, but still pretty light. Great all around rain jacket. I expect that it will last a long time for both hiking and everyday use. I am normally between a medium and a large, but a medium was quite roomy; so, it may run slightly large.

Fit: True to size

This is a well-made shell that is comfortable and keeps out the elements. I bought it for skiing and for snowy days out and about in Utah. I am a little between sizes and bought a large but had to return it for a medium. It is plenty roomy layering. It was a little lighter than I expected, but this is also the most expensive shell I have purchased. Overall, I am very happy with quality and hope to use this for many seasons.

I like to keep either these gels or some chews in my jersey for emergency energy at the end of a long ride. I like both the strawberry banana and the chocolate (which tastes like cake batter). They can be a little messy if you are not careful, but they go down really easily, and you can feel the sugar hit pretty quickly. Note that some of these are caffeinated, and some are not, which might make a difference for you.

I purchased this for an upcoming camping trip after using a few of the Helinox chairs, which I love. Looks like similar high-quality materials and straight-forward assembly. I look forward to trying it out car camping to see if it will be worth throwing in the pack this summer for the longer adventures.

These are my favorite bars for long rides. I tend to try to balance nutrition between liquid calories and some type of bar for rides over two hours. These taste pretty good, have plenty of calories, and don't sit heavy in the stomach. I have never had any problems digesting them on the road, which I can't say about a lot of other bars I have tried. I like some of the flavors more than others but am generally very happy with these and always keep one in the jersey.

I always keep a pack of these in back of my jersey. A nice, mellow orange flavor - pretty easy to chew while riding, and they can make a huge difference at the end of a long ride when you need a boost. The only downside is that I generally don't use an entire pack, and they tend to get a little hard if not consumed a few days after opening. The hard ones still work in a pinch, however!

I picked this up in preparation for a few trips in the Uintas. A really nice collection of flies. I likely won't use all of them, but I like the value of buying them in bulk. Umpqua makes high-quality flies, and I am excited to try them out. The box is solid - I can add a few of my own flies, and I will be good to go.

I bought this to replace a Neo Air, which was really loud when I moved around. It blows up quickly and is very comfortable. I prefer the larger non-lite version, but I needed to cut down on weight for longer hikes. The insulated version is essential. I made the mistake of taking the non-insulated version camping in Wind Rivers and froze. This one is well-insulated, has a little bit of grip, and generally does what you need from a light-weight pad.

I use this primarily for evening rides when I am concerned about not beating the sun back. 1000 lumens may be a little overkill for biking on the road, but it does give great visibility, and I am sure the cars can see from a long ways out. The rear light seems to work well. Probably the most important in terms of safety on the road. I keep that one on for every ride. Very happy overall.

This is a neat little solution for those who don't have access to a compressor but who want to convert to tubeless bike tires. I failed several times on my mountain bike tires with a standard pump then purchased this little beauty. It is pretty small (about 15"), seems solid and well-made, and, most importantly, it works. High pressure airflow without a compressor, and it is very portable, as well.

I got this top for really cold ski days. It is a well-made wool base layer that looks sharp, as well. Not sure how it holds up after washing, but I assume that it should last for a long time. The zipper pocket on the chest is probably unnecessary but looks sharp. Another nice piece from Arcteryx.
