Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought this for my mom for Christmas and wasn't sure what to expect. When I got it, I was very impressed. The Scarf is huge, soft, and vibrantly died. Mom loved it. Great item for fall and winter wear that is stylish and feels like it will last a lifetime. Is wool, so may feel itchy until worn a couple times.

Fit: True to size

Love these boots. They are super comfortable, look great, and are durable for all types of wear. They are a slip on so inherently do not fit as snug as a lace up, as well, the leather will stretch out a bit as it forms to your foot, meaning they just get more comfortable as you wear them more and they break in. Easily treatable with leather grease to enhance water resistance. I have done short hikes, long winter walks on slushy streets, and just all other casual wear and I am very impressed. One of my favorite pieces of footwear. Fit true to size.

I had been wanting this helmet for a long time and finally decided to get one this season. Must say, best decisions I have made in a while. This helmet is exceedingly light, comfortable, and cool. The fit system is like a suction cup to your head, when fitted correctly and unbuckled you can head bang like you are at a rock concert and the thing doesn't move. I used to be blind with sunscreen dripping into my eye with sweat from my old helmet, and after my first to rides in the sun with this one, I had none such issues, very good venting.
I also feel safer in this helmet as it is highly rated and the MIPS system helps with certain impacts.
If you want a light, safe, and stylish helmet, this is the one!

This mitten is durable, warm, and pretty water proof. I use it skiing on storm days, as well as in the spring in the park. Have only had them get wet after slushy park conditions. Keep my hands warm, could easily accommodate a liner. The leather is super durable as well, my pairs have lasted at least two seasons of hard use. Over this long of a period they do pack out a bit, only notice a little drop in warmth on the coldest of days.

Great Shelter
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is an amazing shelter! It is light, durable, extremely waterproof, and can be set up almost anywhere due to the center pole design.
Have used this tent from the high alpine to the desert and it is the best thing I have found for backpacking. It has very few parts, the deign allows for a lot of adjustability (I tie P-Cord to the webbing on it to use for anchoring) As such, with enough messing around, the tent can always be made taught.
This is just a rain fly however, there is not body. Granted if you do not mind sleeping on the ground this make an excellent ultralight, large shelter.
The center pole design is a bit different than most, and may be a bit awkward to get used to. It will sleep four people (or in a pinch, 10) but works well for two people as well. Both persons can sleep on one side of the pole, while there is enough shelter to store all your backpacking gear inside with you, keeping it nice and dry.
This is a great design that I have come to love, will be using this tent for a long time to come.

Picture of one of the many places I have used this tent to enjoy.

This stove is a true champion and my go to backpacking stove. The size makes it hardly noticeable in the pack, and the capability to work with different sized fuel bottles makes packing very easy and light should you want it, or capable of sustaining multi week trips.
This stove is a great cooking stove also! Have used it to make everything from mac and cheese and pad Thai, to even baking cakes and pizzas in the back country. Talk about a treat! There is a bit of a desire for a little more adjustability in the flame intensity, but with a little trickery you can achieve a nice low flame. Or boil water in a matter of minutes.
The real standout part of this stove however, is its very simple design, and because of this it is very easily fixed. There has not been a time, outside of the fuel line getting punctured after being sat on, that I could not get it to light and cook a meal. These things are very easy to clean and fix and as such makes them ideal for longer trips where you need a reliable source of fire for cooking. Great stove, long lasting, reliable, Love the thing.

Awesome bag!
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used this bag on my NOLS trip which happened in the late fall. This bag kept me toasty warm every night I was out, which was up to 20 days at a time. Slept in high alpine snow storms in September, and snow storms in desolation canyon in November. This bag didn't flinch. I slept comfortably warm every night on my Therm-a-rest Z-Lite pad. The bag packs down smaller than I thought and the down didn't bunch even after getting soaked in the tents condensation over night. Would highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for a comfortable and capable solution to sleeping warm.

On to my second pair of these so far, must say I love them. Not only as a bike shoe, but as an all around adventure shoe. My other shoes blew out so I wore these everywhere and found that the insane grip they provide on the pedals and the stiff sole make for excellent approach/scrambling shoe. They glue to pretty much all surfaces and I found them to hold up really well! Love the shoe, do find that they are a bit narrow, granted I have wider feet, but only notice it after a real long day of biking or hiking.

This pad served me well through a couple weeks straight of backpacking, hardly notice it on my pack, no damage or loss of performance.
This pad is durable, warm, and comfortable for a closed cell foam pad. Most of my hiking partners had Air pads, and while they did seem to be a bit more comfortable, I was ready for bed a lot sooner, and did not become light headed blowing up a pad. If you are looking for something that will last forever, not lose functionality if punctured, keeps you warm from the ground and provides a reasonable amount of comfort, I highly recommend this pad.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs small
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 200 lbs
Size Purchased: XL

Got his jacket a while ago, and so far I love it. I did have the opportunity to try them on before I bought, and opted to size up to an XL over a large. It fits perfectly. That being said, normally being a large, I fear the Large would have been too small for me.
This jacket is warm, comfortable, and having it out in the snow and rain, the treated down performs well when wet, which is a new thing for me.
Love this jacket, wear it everywhere, need to take it out into a more rugged area to see about durability. But no complaints so far!

These pants are absolutely amazing, 3 of my 5 pairs of pants are these.
These comfortably fitting pants are stylish enough for any occasion, save formal events maybe, yet also durable enough to withstand a weekend of canyoneering. The material resists abrasion as well or better than any work pant I have owned, but somehow remains soft against your skin.
I have spent time hauling brush and cutting wood in these pants, yet not a single pair have worn a hole or show any thinning of the material, even my first pair which are approaching 6 years of wear!
I highly recommend these pants to anyone who wears their clothes hard and don't want to get multiple pairs of pants for multiple occasions.
10/10, no complaints and will definitely buy again, that is if the ones I have ever need replacing!
