Light and Amazing
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. When the Nemo Tensor pad arrived in the mail I was pretty hesitant about it. It seemed too small to be as comfortable as the other pad I was using. I was very wrong. I just took the Nemo Tensor pad on a 3-day backpacking trip across the Wasatch Front and it was so so comfortable. The exterior of the pad is soft but not soft enough that you are sliding around all night. I was on a slight angle at our last campsite and the pad stayed put all night. I am 5'5" and the size of the Fision Regular was perfect for me. Had some room at the feet but when I take my dog, I'm sure that's where he'll end up. It was pretty warm at night while we were backpacking so I don't have anything to say about temperature rating. Everything matched what I saw on the website for this pad, but I must have missed reading about the pump sack because I was very excited when I saw it came in the box with this item. No more passing out while blowing up my pad. Okay, I have never passed out BUT it feels like I'm close every time. There was also a velcro strap that was nice to make the pad even smaller for my pack. And Nemo, thank you for making a stuff sack that is actually big enough for the pad that I don't feel like I'm going to tear the sack when I'm trying to shove the pad inside. Much appreciated.

COMFY
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. I’ve been having an internal battle between a lightweight pad that isn’t very comfortable or a heavier pad that will help me get plenty of rest at night. The NEMO Equipment Tensor Sleeping Pad solves all of that. I’m being very serious. When this pad arrived and I saw it in the package I didn’t think it would be comfortable because of how small it packs and how lightweight it is. This pad exceeded my expectations! Both comfy and lightweight at the same time. I’m 5”5’ and the regular size was great for me. I use this for backpacking and am so happy I have more room for Oreos in my pack. I’ve only used it once so I can’t comment on the durability but it doesn’t feel cheap. The NEMO Equipment Tensor Sleeping Pad comes with a Vortex pump sack and makes it so much easier to inflate the pad and avoids me getting dizzy and tipping over! You also don’t need to worry about the pad not fitting back in the stuff sack because of the velcro strap that also comes in the package. Shrink that pad with the velcro sack and it will slip right in. I definitely recommend this pad!

Durable

I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review Is my personal opinion. I was really excited to try the Oboz Wind River III Backpacking Boot out because of a bad ankle I have from a few months ago. I was used to wearing shorter boots or trail runners for backpacking but needed some extra support for my ankle. I have taken these boots about 40 miles into the peaks of the Wasatch and the canyons of Southern Utah. They were great for the snow we hit in the mountains and not a drop of sand got through them while in the canyons. I was accidentally kicking cactus on the trail and never felt anything and the boots look brand new after 2 backpacking trips. Sizing was a little off for me. They were very tight when I initially got them and could barely fit them on my foot but after wearing them around work for a few days to break them in they started loosening up. I would suggest sizing up, I kept them because I knew my ankle was never going to move with how tight they were. A lot of people these days are complaining about how women’s outdoor gear has too much pink and purple but I loved the purple accents on these boots! These shoes are very durable and give me confidence that they will last for a very long time. I’m very excited to take the Oboz Wind River III Backpacking Boot into the Wind River Range this fall.
