Sweet pack.
5 5

Wanted this as a dedicated daypack. First shot at using this was an icey winter day trip up to San Jacinto summit. Packed it to the brim and could hardly tell I had it on. The suspension system that keeps it off your back is ridged enough to keep the full pack weight off, yet close enough that you do no™t feel it hanging off you. Taking the pack off I had very minimal sweat spots. Deuter did an awesome job on the design.

One boo boo though. I accidentally stepped on the male-end waist buckle and it broke. So I just tied the ends together for the trip. I do not think I put all that much weight on it and it is a pretty skimpy buckle being pretty thin. I will no™t hit the rating for that since it was nott designed to be stepped on lol. Luckily it is an easy replacement and I will just upgrade it to a heavier plastic buckle to avoid my savagery.

Otherwise, super stoked to use this on future day trips.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

As others have mentioned, it is tight. I can usually only bear with it when sitting idle. Still useful for me, just not my preferred on the move article because it bunches up. But does the job keeping the wind off while sitting at camp. If you are a smaller person, maybe a great piece.

First, I dislike egg based freeze dried meals. So this was a great break away from my usual freeze dried breakfast choices.

2nd, tastes great. I would definitely suggest giving it a solid stirring while waiting for it to hydrate because it is thick. The larger chucks of beef still had a slight dry spot in them. But that did not bother me.

I recommend this.
