Fit: True to size

Maybe these are perfect for more patient people- but I really had to wrestle them on, and felt very frustrated. They feel delicate, like they would break just from putting them and taking them off- maybe I'm wrong, I dunno. In any case, even if they work great I would probably never bother to put them on.

These are too cold for temps under ~38-40. Too hot for temps above 45 or so. By time it hits 45+ I'm starting to wear my run-of-the-mill Fox mtn bike full finger gloves. When these get wet they are hard to get off, and it feels like you're going to pull the lining out. I'll keep them for the narrow band of weather they seem useful for, but disappointed I spent $60 on them.

Maybe the definition of insulation has changed- but imo these can in no stretch of the imagination be given that title. I have a lot of great Gore products, but they don't belong in the shoe/toe cover business. They're paper thin, and feel like they will rip just from taking them on and off. Find a good neoprene pair like the Assos model, and you'll be both insulated and durable.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs large
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 160 lbs
Size Purchased: Medium

This a perfect, simple jersey. Good as a base layer under a good shell for temps under 35 (for me). Great w a vest for 35-45. Great on its own above that.

It has great rubber dots along the inside of the tail to cling to your butt. I'm 5'11" 160 lbs w 38" chest- which puts me in a Large according to their size chart. But at that size, it was too loose and the tail just hung there like an un-tucked dress shirt without tension, essentially making the dots useless. The medium is perfect. So imo order a size down.

The chest pocket is great- I can't imagine why the road jersey don't have this.

These are perfect, simple, and warm. I'm tempted to try their rain bootie and see if they are the same quality. As to the poor review below about it falling apart- maybe they got a dud, but I just can't see these falling apart unless they were used off the bike. There is no fabric-like material that can be walked on for long without being destroyed. If you have to get off the bike and walk for any distance more than 20 feet, you should take them off. When you put them on, make sure they are not overlapping the tread. If you follow these tips these should last for 15+ years imo.

Do check the Assos size guide as Backcountry often has the wrong sizes listed on their sites.

3 stars bc they do keep your feet dry, and warm. But the little red tab you use to pull them over your heel ripped off after my 6 or 7th use. Without that tab, they're very hard to put on. I returned and will likely buy the expensive ones just to be sure- $60 was too good to be true.
