Michelangelo Nicholas's Bio

Driven by recreation, adventure, and new experiences. From surfing up and down the coast in Southern California, to backpacking and recreating around Europe, followed by a solo bike tour across the USA, I now reside in Utah shredding the lightest powder and mountain biking until I can't feel my hands.

maybe my last! These gloves are awesome. The wool terry on the inside feels like old school quality. The goat leather is amazing soft and has held up to throwing grabs and snagging trees all season.
My hands have been comfortable down to around 14 degrees F to around 50 degrees F when it starts to get a little warm. The wool has great insulated properties that make the temperature range fantastic.
When it is below 10 degrees, which doesn't happen to often in the Wasatch, I use a pair of merino wool liners for that extra warmth.

Solid wax kit. This is my second one, with the original I bought 6 years ago and stays at my parents place.

The iron has proven to be reliable, and the ptex, wax, metal scraper, plastic scraper, file, and diamond stone that come with the kit are all adequate for a tune job.

I did wish the kit would come with a brush, but the buffer pad does do a good job.

My mom, the middle school vice principle, hates the cold and has to stand outside every morning and funnel the kids into their respective classrooms. While dealing with a large group of kids at 7 am seems bad enough the least I could do is help her keep her hands warm.

Now she won't stop texting me, at 7 in the morning. She loves the gloves, says they are plenty warm for a crisp Southern Californian morning, and is now getting into emoticons.

I picked up this jacket for a good friend of mine who has to wake up early to feed the goats, often in very cold temperatures. The light weight design and trim keeps her fully mobile while completely her morning goativities.

Like many others, I signed up for my first avalnch course and decided to go with the Tracker 2 beacon, probe, and shovel package. I through and pulled the probe first try, the shovel seems sturdy yet light weight, and the beacon design is simple which will be perfect in an emergency situation when things get hectic. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase and think that the tracker 2 will be my back country companion for years to come.

I needed a pack I would want to wear on resort sidecountry days as well as a full day in the backcountry and this pack is it. Most importantly the fit feels solid and attached to me when slashing down the mountain or threading tight trees. My favorite feature might be the over-sized zipper pulls to avoid the desire to take your gloves off during a rescue.

I love the board. The flat to rocker profile is a blast in all kinds of conditions. From power carves on groomers, to powder face shots, with some park and butters in between, grabbing this board for a day on the slopes has been an easy choice.
