Familiarity: I've used it several times

I owned a few MSR Drom bags a few years ago, black and the drom lites... I could never get rid of that funny taste in the water. I sold them and went with Platypus bags instead... no issues. I love MSR products and the Gravity "Autoflow" is awesome, never had an issue with taste in that big red bag so I purchased this Trail Base setup... and they have that funny taste! I thought MSR would have addressed this by now. I will be trying (again!) several ways to get rid of it. Last time I tried a lot of different things... baking soda, Aqua-Sol and even Vodka but nothing worked. I hope these will be better but I don't have my hopes up.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I retired my trusty Thermarest pad 2 summers ago, had it for over 7 years. I purchased a Klymit Static V Luxe Insulated... it was just OK, I liked the size but the pack size and weight was a bit much. Used the Klymit 5-6 times on multiple night trips. Got this Thermarest Trekker for a good price and now I really see / feel a difference! Thermarest is the way to go!

They make storage bags for down sleeping bgas and a lot of new bags come with them. This should be sold with tents just like a footprint. If you spend a lot on your tent DO NOT keep it rolled up in a bag! This mesh storage bag makes it easy to just crumble (I don't fold or roll so they can breath) your tent and rainfly up, place inside the mesh and store it without worrying about the material breaking down. Love MSR and all the cool features and gear they make almost as much as I love Backcountry!!!

Much stronger and larger compared to the Platypus bag. Easy to fill, transport, hang and use. I already had the entire MSR Autoflow setup but added this so I don't have to walk back and forth from my water source as often. No it does not come with the MSR filter or hoses but if you add a sawyer mini (cost less) it will work just as good. It is a gravity feed bag people! It does what it's supposed to and it is made to last! How can you not give it a 5 star rating???

This is so easy to use and is a step up from pumping! The only thing I have to say that is even close to a negative about this filter is that you have to fill the bag yourself! NO issues, solid design and NO MORE PUMPING! I have used this filter on trips with multiple people and kids... this is the way to go. One trick... I remove the small hose from the filter at the black (dirty) end, let a small stream of water pour out from the hose to remove air bubbles form the hose and bottom of the bag, hook it back to the filter and the flow is fine every time! Do the same when back flushing (from other end of filter) and the flow rate is not slowed down at all!
