5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 150 lbs
Size Purchased: 32

I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion.
The Stoic Afterparty shorts have been an awesome all-around pair of shorts. I used them hiking and golfing primarily and they awesome. When hiking around the lake with a new puppy, I ended up needing to go into the lake and these dried quicker than I expected, which is a big plus considering the variable weather you can run into while in the mountains (I’m hiking around the Wasatch for reference).
Although these shorts won’t give you extra power to bag an unplanned peak, they will give you bonus style points when you go to recuperate in town after crawling back from the sufferfest. When you begin to receive unplanned compliments, you can definitely say it was all in whatever activity you’ve been doing and keep the secret of the shorts to yourself.
I got the Stoic Afterparty in Khaki in a 32in waist. The waist fit is spot on. Overall, they’re great shorts that do what shorts should do. They look good, move well, and are comfortable from point A to point B in whatever way you make the journey.

I have been incredibly pleased with the all-around functionality of the Silver Fork Down. It's held up to everything I've thrown at it in the mountains and is still great for just wearing around the town. I got the Fiesta/Andorra (Orange) and it looks just like it does online, just not quite as shiny. I'm 5'6" (on a good day), 150 lbs, and found the medium fit spot on. I've taken it out on a variety of activities, but I really tested it while touring. I used this while touring in 20 degree temps, light snowfall with about 15 mph wind gusts, and it kept me nice and toasty. The athletic fit is perfect for transitioning at the top of the climb without feeling like a giant marshmallow moving around.
The one complaint that I have would be the bleeding of feathers, but it's not a significant amount and I'm anticipating this to stop after a little more use since it's still pretty new overall.
The unsung hero of the Silver Fork Down is the hood. Sounds weird, but a bad hood can ruin a jacket. It fits your head just right and goes well over a beanie or not. Your brain container will thank you in this hood. It is also very nice how it easily packs into the inner chest pocket quickly. This works great for throwing it into a bag and not taking up much space at all.
It fit great under a shell and being used as the outer layer. Overall, it's a top notch jacket that I would definitely recommend, especially for the price. The Silver Fork Down is a great jacket for a wide range of activities.
