Warm in Sub Zero Temps
5 5

Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 128 lbs
Size Purchased: Small

I'll admit, this jacket was the outermost layer of my 6 layers, but I think it played the most integral part in keeping me warm in sub zero temps summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro. I actually bought this jacket because I read a review of how one woman was going to use it on Kili, and on our summit morning, I saw two other ladies wearing the exact same jacket! Needless to say, it was the absolute best purchase I could have made. We had sustained winds of over 20mph for the entire 12 hours that we were exposed, and I never felt cold in my core. I always run cold, so I am super impressed. If only they could make gloves and socks with the same warmth.

My other layers were: IB tee, IB midweight base layer, R1 hoody, Arcteryx LT down vest, Marmot precip jacket and this RAB. (Basically everything I traveled with and then this on top)

There's no doubt - Arc teryx makes great clothing for a variety of circumstances. I needed a vest to accompany me to the summit of Kilimanjaro and while I originally tried the SV (severe weather) vest, I switched to the LT (light weight). The *one* thing I wished the LT version had (which I know would make it not LT) was a drawcord. The fit was great through the chest and torso, but a little looser through the hips for me. That being said, the vest was pretty amazing. Brought it along in my daypack for added warmth most days of the hike - was so small and lightweight, it was super convenient.

My hub and I bought a couple of these compression cube sets for a trip to Africa, and they were ab fab. Not only could we easily find things that were clean super fast, but they were easily compressed and packed to fill in space in our bag. There is nothing rigid to these cubes, so you can cram them anywhere, or tuck them away easily when not in use. They've changed the way we approach packing. Highly recommend! Could fit 3-4 pairs of pants in the large, and roughly 5 pairs of midweight hiking socks in the small - both compressed. Less bulky items also fit fantastically.

I bought this toiletry bag to replace a large, clunky bag I'd been using for years. Perhaps it was because of the huge size difference that I had a difficult time trying to fit everything into this bag, despite drastically pairing down. I think the shape makes it a little hard to utilize every nook and cranny. Also, I detached the mirror from the clip and added it to the bag instead of it being front and center when you open the zipper and it broke the first time I traveled with it. Not my favorite toiletry bag, but will suffice.
