165mm Ultegra 8000 cranks
5 5

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great cranks from Shimano, as usual. Was using another crank with my Ultegra 6800’s and decided to upgrade. Works great with the older iteration of Ultegra. The beauty of Shimano! Shifts better and less chain rattle/creek from the chains. Next time, I’m sticking to the group set. Great price and shipping from CC. Long time customer. No cons that I can think of. My 6800 Stages PM fits perfectly on these cranks. The color is a little different though.

I bought Nov 2017, now it's Apr 2018 and I've put over 1000miles on the Kickr. I've trained on another trainer (fluid) for the past 3 winters and I'm very pleased with the upgrade to a smart trainer. Definitely better on the mind when used with Zwift. Competitive juices flows just like on real group rides. Connectivity is seamless using Bluetooth. I calibrate once a week and seems to work fine. My power number using the Kickr seems to match with my real bike using a Stages PM. There is a humming sound with the Kickr but very tolerable. I think it's a little quieter than my fluid trainer. The only problem I've had with my trainer was my bluetooth Wahoo cadence sensor. It comes with the trainer. It seems to work about 75% of the time....I mean to "wake up" when I pedal. Once it wakes up, it's good to go. Other than that, it's a great investment...it is an investment!! But, I've never been in better cycling fitness coming into spring than other years. Recommend highly using with Zwift.

Stages Power for Ultegra
5 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Very impressed with the data I’m getting. Very easy to calibrate via iPhone app. I have a Garmin 500 which has limited data recording settings; 1s and smart recording. I use the 1s setting and my power profiles are not smooth. A better head unit for power that has 3s to 10s recording should be used. Back to the Stages. Installation was a breeze. Calibration was a breeze. Ant+ connectivity was a breeze. Have not used Smart Bluetooth, except for zeroing. Still on original battery so I can’t comment on battery replacement as another reviewer commented. But so far, I’m happy with the Stages. I have a Newton+ PM on my other bike and the numbers match up well. I’ve used the Stages for about a month and so far, it’s been giving me good numbers.

What makes this a 5-star review (for me) is because of the hitch tightener that allows a snug fit of the rack and the hitch. The Kuat Sherpa is a solid carrier. Really easy to use. Assembly instructions were easy to follow and I was done in 20min. The only thing that Kuat can improve on is to put reflectors on the rack for added road safety. Not a big deal, but I like to add a little something to product improvement.

Fit: True to size

I've used Giordana and Castelli riding gloves before, but these Pearls' are my new favorites. For the price point of >$30, these were the best. Very comfortable gloves, good quality materials, and nicely padded. I chose white to keep my hands cooler for the hot Memphis summers. So far, I've used them all thru Spring-time and so far they held up well.

Went to 25mm because the pros are riding 25's. Was a little leary because I'm a 4000s rider and I love my 4000s. The 4000s II's are just as grippy and fast. The wider tire is a little tough to get on/off the bike, but no big deal. So far, no problems with wear or sidewall punctures like my old Michelins. Rides a lot smoother than the Mavic tires that came with my Kysirium SLR's. As it heats up some more, I'll see how it holds up to more miles!!

3rd Bell helmet I've had. 2 Volts and my first Gage. It's considerably lighter than the Volt, but just as comfortable. Has the same adjustability as the other Bell products, so I was familiar with fitting. The price was a big factor. Paid >$100 for my Bell Volt. So a lighter and BMC color scheme helmet for my new ride for $75 bucks; can't beat that.
