Megan Davin's Bio

I am an outdoorist, I live work and study around nature. Having lived in 8 different states I am a lifelong learner, always trying to adapt to my new surroundings. I have lived in New Jersey, Massachusetts, California, Tennessee, Vermont, Colorado and now Utah! I consider Vermont to be “home” and where I say I am from. I also spend a lot of time traveling to many more places, having discovered a love meeting and interacting with people from all over. My love of the mountains and nature was ingrained at a young age, and has always been in the background of my learning.

I had never camped in a tent until college and didn’t learn to ski until I was 19. But since then, I have worked as a hiking, rock climbing and sea kayak guide. I thru hiked Vermont’s Long Trail (273 miles), ski instructed, worked outdoor retail, shipping and receiving, customer service and warranty, athlete management, inventory management, freelance writer, brand ambassador, ski tuning, apprentice bike mechanic, road tripped form Vermont to California and back and then back to Colorado, and generally just have a great love and passion for the outdoors!

I am a passionate skier (alpine & backcountry touring BUT trying to re-learn to tele) and mountain biker (that’s so enduro… resonates with me… longer travel bikes are so much fun!) and I love truck camping (I upgraded to a truck from my Subaru in May 2016) I almost always travel with my dog Kit, she even has her own instagram @Adventures_of_Kit – but I always respect places where she is not allowed.

This bike had me at hello, and that hello was the sound of my yelling BRAPP while whizzing through the woods and feeling so over joyed with excitement. I LOVE Bikes, and this bike is a magical dream machine. It climbs relatively well in trail mode, and then switch it to PARTY more and full squish for descents for so much fun on the down hills.

Love wearing this jersey while riding my Juliana Roubion. Makes me feel slightly more like a pro/ faster. Fit is solid and recommend sticking to your traditional jersey size- for me it is a large. It is not the most breathable jersey I own. I think this comes with the very durable fabric.

I got the Black sunburst pair, after already having a pair of the regular old Lowdowns which I love to death. The nose piece changed a little which threw me off at first, but now I am used to it. My one complaint is the lens gets dirty and smudged instantly and I can't seem to keep it fresh. I have gotten in the habit of cleaning my lens every day and they are ALWAYS stored in a hard case. But the colors are so great and a good classic go to shape.

I just picked up this new helmet, and I LOVE the styling, and Smith helmets, especially with MIPS. My one hesitation is it feels slightly heavy. This also might be getting back into cycling shape and looking up. But all in all this is a really great helmet and super comfortable

If you want to be faster, one way is to look faster and these sunnies are perfect for that. I really like the new arms that clip on and off, my one concern was they fell off my helmet and one arm popped off and I was glad I wasnt actively riding. They also fogged up a lot on my rides, I am still not sure if it is the sunglasses to helmet combination, or the humidity and sweating, But otherwise I look fast and feel fast with the black and white stripped glasses.

I've been eyeing this shirt for several seasons, and why I had not pulled the trigger before is beyond me. I love this short for staying warm and slightly chillier rides. Or just want to apres after a ride, throw this on and hope all your friends don't match, it's totally worth the investment.

I typically always wear a large sized glove and these are no different. The fit is amazing, they are easy to get on and off and while riding they stay in place and I do not have to fiddle with them. For me that's a huge win, plus I can still use my cell phone with the gloves on for taking pictures (not texting), and navigating. all in all a great and highly reccomended pair of gloves.

I was very hesitant after ripping the tags off before trying on, because they felt a little big, BUT took them out for a 19 mile ride today and they were totally comfortable. they move once where I had to adjust, and that is not unlike any other shorts I have.Overall I think the cut could be a bit better, BUT at the end of the day the chamois pad was great and I can't wait for more rides

I just started using these, so far they are great, I maybe got a bit over zealous trying to use the knife on a GIANT block of cheese, but it still worked. My one concern is the leather holster getting lost. So far so good. but it does nto attach to anything.

I've been struggling with camping bowls for a while, and have tried, ruined, lost my fair share. So far so good with the set of 3. I mostly use the biggest one as a cutting board but I love the small bowl for breakfasts and medium for everything else. I love they they have a pouch, to help guarantee not loosing them. I also travel and take them with me to hotels, because you just never know!

I have been searching for a new to-go mug for some time- this is perfect because it keep my tea hot, not not as scalding as the flip lids because it allow some heat to get out. The downfall is the lid is always "open" . But I am always very well caffeinated with delicious HOT tea!
