I bought these to mountain bike in. Went OTB on the first ride and shredded both of my palms because they have a super thin layer of mesh right in the middle of the palm that the trail surface quickly destroyed. I maybe should have just returned them as soon as I saw how thin the mesh was, but hindsight is 20/20, and I don't think backcountry would take them back now. So anyway, would not recommend for mountain biking.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

This saddle came on my Niner RIP 9 and it was a very comfortable and reasonably light weight saddle for a while. Then about 4 months after riding it with no visible wear the saddle body fell off of the rails in the middle of a trail. I didn't crash or anything, was just going to sit back down and somehow it got knocked off. Now I can't get it back onto the rails so I really don't know how it came off in the first place. I have contacted fi'zi:k about this and if they provide some decent customer service I will update this review.

Edit: Apparently fi'zi:k was having some troubles with their customer service this summer and did not get my request until a couple weeks ago. They sent me a tundra m3 as a replacement which seems very nice. Unfortunately it wasn't very prompt so I had already bought a saddle to replace it, but now I have a backup so that's nice.
