Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs large
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 220 lbs
Size Purchased: large

I've owned this jacket since 2008, it's just starting to show wear. I've used it climbing/skiing/lazing about town/pillow/backpacking/extreme LARPing. maybe the fit changed since then, but a large fits me and i usually go for XLs. warm and durable. i run warm, but with a shell and good base layer this is good to below zero temps. not a great cigar smoking jacket, or for wet weather, otherwise perfect.

It will pump air into a shock, but the gauge is shiite. The gauge jumps in ~20psi increments. So it will work for setting sag, but you have no accuracy in my experience. I even tried taking it apart, cleaning, re-lubing etc. never worked right from day 1. Did I get a lemon? And it's expensive compared to others.

These reviews are odd, this is not an insulated hardshell. it is not a down coat. it's meant for high aerobic activities and it can cut the wind, layer it! use one or two base layers and you can go up in winter without sweating. then put on a shell or puffy for the way down. it's very durable, rock and tree resistant. and when it's no longer water resistant, wash with nikwax.

I broke the plastic lace clip after 5-6 days out. I'm concerned really fuckin light, also means less durable... Otherwise they're good, but not as stiff as they claim. like the Burton imperial these are actually a medium flex to me. The boa only version is as stiff as advertised.
