Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Pros: I really like this tent. It is lightweight for amount of floorspace it has. It is rock solid in high wind, when properly tied down.

Cons: It is kind of annoying that the poles are one huge piece. Zipper can get stuck in the rain fly quite a bit, but can easily be avoided.

Black diamond has great customer service. Hard not to support this company.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Ive been climbing in the Astromans the past week. This is an awesome all day trad shoe. I wear an 11 - 11.5 street shoe and bought a 44.5. The 44 was too small. They are a nice stiff shoe but very comfortable, slightly stiffer than the TC Pros. They have stretched about a 1/4 size so far. I just crank down on the laces a bit more then when they were new. My feet are average width and find the Astromans are not too narrow and not too wide.

I wish Backcountry would list the EU size next to the US size...

Jacket seems to be similar to the Westcomb Cruiser. I assume they are made in the same building. Both made in Canada, same materials (300 fabric lower and 560 upper body). Cayenne color is the same as the Westcomb redrock color (despite the jacket colors in Backcountry's photos). The only difference I see is the Westcomb's version has the 560 fabric come down farther on the arms. Also the Westcomb has pit zips and pocket placements.

It does breathe well. It is a good shell for winter touring or spring corn skiing. I like the overall fit and the pit zips. The Redrock color does not resemble the image above. The jacket is red in person, not orange as seen in the picture. Very waterproof. The jacket is made of two types of eVent fabric. 300 and 500. The 300 fabric is thinner and I have noticed very small tears in jacket.
