Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
I'd like to comment of this jacket's fit and the range of comfortable temperatures, two things that were unclear to me from the other great reviews here. I bought this jacket about three weeks ago and have used in in a variety of Boston winter days.
First the fit. I was looking for a jacket that would be lightweight but warm enough for almost all Boston weather. I also wanted plenty of room for layering if necessary. I'm 70 years old, 5' 10" tall, 190 pounds and sadly that weight is distributed around my belly than my chest and shoulders. Shirt sleeve is 33 inches. I bought an XL. It fits just as I had hoped. Not baggy but not tight either. Easily enough room to layer a mid-weight fleece. The sleeves could accommodate arms a couple inches longer than mine. But the velcro cuff closures make it easy to adjust to my length.
Regarding temperature range, I have worn it comfortably from 15-45 degrees, nothing more vigorous than walking a couple miles. Using today as an example, it's 26 degrees with an 8-10 mph breeze. I wore the jacket over just an UA polyester tee and went for a 1 mile walk. I was very comfortable, even walking into the wind. There was no sense of cold getting past the zipper. When I took off the jacket, I was a little sweaty. I am pleased with this temp range. If anything, the jacket seems warm at temps below what I would have thought based on some of the other reviews here.
And it hasn't lost a feather.
Hope this helps.
