Maggie's Bio

Ever since moving to Utah in 2008 I haven't had the desire to live anywhere else. Utah has it all! I moved here from Wisconsin and am currently living in Salt Lake City. With the mountains in my backyard I love to go mountain biking, running, hiking, and basically anything that's outdoors.

I loved many things about this pack, including ospreys suspension system which makes for a comfortable fit. I have a hard time with certain packs because my spine sticks out and the pack becomes uncomfortable but I had no problems with this pack. I give it four stars because of the weight of the pack. It is heavier than others, which comes into play during fast ascents.

This tent was surprisingly easy to set up given its size. It took less than 5 minutes to get it set up. I’m 5’6” and was able to stand in it with a few inches to spare. Two of the walls offered a lot of storage options. This tent made car camping super convenient and comfortable. I haven’t had the chance to try it out in rain but it withheld moderate winds with no issues. The storage bag held everything nicely and everything fit in easily, unlike some other tents where you struggle to get the tent in.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This helmet is super comfortable and the chin guard provides the extra protection I was looking for. I recently took a bad crash and ended up with 14 stitches in my chin, hence why I went with the full face feature. I love the removable chin guard for uphill riding and being able to snap it on in a jiffy for the downhill. It’s super lightweight even with the chin guard on, and plenty breathable. Luckily I haven’t crashed with this bad boy yet but the combination of mips technology and full face feature provide me with the utmost confidence to get sendy. It’s a little bit on the pricey side but totally worth it. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have a goggle strap and the clips on the side make things look a little awkward but those are just minor, superficial faults I’ve found. If you’re on the fence I’d totally recommend picking one of these up.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

These pants are comfy! Great range of pockets to use with a harness or not. The bottom pant leg adjustability is great. I like a longer pant leg so I can still wear them with sandals and just tighten them so I don't step on the hems. Super breathable and thin. Fairly weather resistant. Great for anything, anytime!

This crash pad is huge, which is both a pro and a con. It is big enough to mitigate the danger on many boulder problems all by itself. It is super durable and cushions well on a fall. It is a bit heavy to lug around, but the waist strap helps position the weight in a supportive way. It is tricky to get through tight trees, but your friends will appreciate the top notch entertainment provided watching you struggle through the trees.
