The pocket on this helps to more easily gather my rope and the ease of the roll up style helps get quickly to the next climb. Highly recommend for convenience of moving from one climb to the next and holds up well to the beating from the earth's diverse surfaces.

These set of nuts are a great set for starting to build your rack. They seem light and versitile and i use them in combination with some offsets and a couple smaller brass stoppers. Being new to trad I can't say that I've put them through any sort of heavy loaded falls, but when I get a good placement, the walnuts always seem to find a good fit, I feel confident in moving up the climb.

In building my trad rack I wanted to double up on some of the more common sizes for what I might run into on beginner climbs. The Metolius cams are a great addition with slight size variation in comparison to the BD Camelots. As a newbie I also like the colored dots for helping you feel more confident about your placements.

I use Iris HMS for all kinds of anchor building, from connecting them to the bolts for a top rope or using them in a platform build belay system. Besides feeling solid, I like the bright colors that help me locate them quickly on my harness. Side note, I haven't seen too many floating around out there so it's easy to head home with all your gear at the end of the day since they're very different from those other REALLY popular biners everyone has.

I bought these for my brother he says he has a somewhat more narrower foot, which he says feels great in the VS. As with most climbing shoes there is a break in period. With his first pair of VS he had to take them off after every climb. After a couple of weeks (climbing 3 days on average) his feet finally adjusted. This being his second pair of the VS he said he had no break in period this time and wonders if maybe a size down would have been better. VS gives complete confidence on tiny feet, whether indoors or on actual rock; from granite, limestone and sandstone, as well giving the confidence and security of throwing out a heel or toe hook, VS latches on great!

I have sweaty hands. I like to use the liquid chalk to dry them out a bit. I'll usually use it sparingly throughout the day with dry chalk on top. There is an alcohol smell, makes you feel like you're ready for surgery, but I don't mind it. It's kind of expensive but I don't feel like you need a lot or need it for every climb. Over time I think it's helped my hands be more on the dry side in general, great for climbing, but definitely have your favorite climbing salve or lotion around for after climbing or your off days.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I agree with other reviewers that these seemed to be more 'kids' sized or suited for someone with a smaller face. I bought them because I didn't want the overly large lenses but these were a lot smaller than expected. Great brand, going to buy another pair in a different size because of the quality and durability they have.
