Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
I have worn these shoes for about 5 months now. They have been in show, streams, rain and mud, and dry surfaces from streets to gravel, dirt and rocks. I have had plantars faciatis in the past so I put off the shelf insoles in all of my shoes. I expect that doing that limits the gore-tex surround but it is something that I need to do. I have been very pleased with the performance of the shoe on grip for both wet & dry surfaces. The only real drawback or issue that I have is that I find that the heel compresses very easily now. As I tend to pronate as well I find that my heels tend to lean to the inside. If I change my stance and put more weight on the front of foot it naturally goes away. I'm not sure that it bothers me, I only notice it initially and I try to be more consious of my walking. But my balance is fine crossing streams over logs or rocks. I have put over 200 miles on these shoes and outside of the heel they feel great and still perform. They are still water proof. I have had some gore-tex shoes that after many miles I wear a hole in the gore-tex membrane where the shoes bends before the toes. But these are still going strong.
I did find they were not good for snowshoing as the uppers are too flexible and the snowshoe straps dug into my feet. But they aren't meant for that :)
