Familiarity: I've used it several times

They are super light. They slide on to my older dynafits very easily (and also dont come out on their own). They assist on those super icy skinners and have certainly come in handy many times. The only negative is they wont work with the high heel riser as there is nothing to force the crampon into the snow. Maybe something can be created to insert on top of the crampon to put some space between the boot and the crampon to force the crampon into the snow?

Either way, this is a great piece of equipment you should prob have for those big springtime tours.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this for an overnight ski tour on Mt Adams as something that would be comfortable and pack down to a reasonable size. It did just that. It packs down to a little bigger than a coke can. The best part is it is actually very comfortable, almost as much as my typical pillows I have on my bed. The added bonus is using it as a travel pillow. Every trip I go on now, it comes with me, making my flights much more bearable. It's never had any durability issues or issues inflating/deflating.

Setup was easy, worked right out of the box with no trimming/bleeding necessary. I've had it for several months, but so far it does the job. It goes up at a good speed and isn't sluggish and foes down when it needs to. I waited way too long to get a dropper. There's no reason to wait as this will dramatically enhance your riding experiences.

These skins are reliable. I used them 2 seasons on my BD Justices (about 140 tours) in all weather/snow conditions. I've never had an issue with the glue not sticking to the skis.
The grip is great, and the wasatch provides some very steep icy skintracks, of which these skins do a phenomenal job at.
I also thought the setup/cutting was not too difficult. The only remote issue could be the tail clip sliding off the side, but that's an easy fix and likely isn't an issue on most skis.

I see this as a critical piece of equipment for backcountry adventures. I keep about 4 in my pack for typical tours (mostly in case no one else has any). But these along with a small roll of duct tape will save your ass when it needs saving. My buddy's ski broke in half during a tour(pictured). 4 Volie straps were the only way his skin would stay on. While it wasn't a life or death situation, it allowed us to get back to the car without much extra turmoil. Without voile straps, it would have been a much much worse day.

They are also great for holding things in general. Having varying lengths is helpful as well.
