Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 4"
Size Purchased: small

I purchased this to replace my old Ice Breaker Basics baselayer. I chose to go with this was as it was a bit heavier than my previous and I tend to get cold easy. This has not disappointed yet as it is comfortable and functional at the same time. I like the mesh parts that allow for some ventillation when wearing. I wore this the other day while hiking in 30 degree temps with my kids and it worked perfect; keeping me warm and dry. I also tend to wear this baselayer just casually as well and when I go to the gym. It is great for layering and warming up when I go workout or teach a class. I am still getting used to teh half zip as I don't always like things on my neck but it definitely isn't something I complain about either.
The fit is pretty true to size - I am 5'4 and flucuate between 112 - 118lbs, more athletic build; a small worked great for me. I don't like the tops to be incredibly tight and this size was not - it was fitted but not too much and definitely not too loose. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who gets cold easily.

This was a second set I purchased for my husband and here is the feedback he has to share!
"The hestra heli mitten is my go to mitten for back country skiing and ski resort use. In my opinion the liners are the most comfortable out there. The leather is soft but I do notice it wears a bit more when I spend more time at the resorts. The one finger design does sacrifice a little warmth, but it’s worth it for the added dexterity when ripping skins, locking in bindings, and adjusting boots. This isn’t my first pair and won’t be my last. "

"This is my third pair of these shoes and I keep coming back to them for trail running and hiking duties. All around great shoe but the lacing system, support, and waterproofing really set them apart. I have a narrow foot and they fit me well. The only downside is the durability…they just don’t seem to last as long as they could. The functionality and fit keeps me buying them again."

I absolutely love these, they are very soft and comfortable. They don't ride up at all and wick moisture away really well. Minimal lines show when I wear my leggings and I don't feel uncomfortable at all! I would highly recommend these to anyone.

No matter your activtiy level these underwear come through with both functionality and comfort! Plus they are pretty cute too.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I will have to return this due to sizing but I have feedback to share regarding the shoe in general.
I have been wearing the Vomero model for 5 years now to teach high intensity fitness classes and I have loved them. I also use them for teaching dance fitness and they have given me the perfect balance of traction and ability to pivot.

I usually go a full size up in Nikes and did the same with this particular shoe as my Vomero 9's are 7.5. Either my feet have shrunk or the design has changed but the 7.5's were much too big so I am going to switch these out and get the 7's. I am a 6.5/7 in a regular street shoe and a narrow foot.

Update:
The size 7 fits much better for my 6.5/7 size foot! I really love the feeling of these shoes. It is very lightweight and breathes well. I have felt that the impact on my knees is softened by the support of these shoes, which for what I do is great! These are a standard running shoe but work amazing for teaching my fitness classes as well. I would recommend to anyone.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought these as a gift for my husband and here is what he has to say!
I received this ski for as a gift about a month ago and have had a chance to do a few tours as well as a quick resort run with them. These are a dedicated touring ski for me mounted with pin bindings and I am coming from a heavier, more powder specific ski so my review is from that perspective.

Most of my trips involve long approaches so I was focused on getting a lighter ski to free up some weight. This ski is definitely light, and you can certainly feel it on the ups. Where I was surprised is how light and responsive it feels on the downs. The ski just goes where I want it to, no muscling it around.

My first trip out I had the ski in about 18” of light Utah powder and they did really well, although I did feel like had to pay a little more attention to my balance to keep the skis from diving. But it was nothing that I can’t get used to.

Just today I skied out of the backcountry on a groomed resort run just to see how they did. Well, they did how you would expect. They survived and weren’t as chattery as I thought they would be, but this would not be my choice for even a part time resort ski and they do not claim to be that.

Bottom line: skinning up, I don’t see how it could be much better. They are noticeably light and the profile is perfect to maintain good skin contact for slick tracks and steeper approaches. On the downs, this is going to be a great all around ski for variable conditions which is exactly what I was hoping for. The only thing that I think could be improved is just a little more tip rise to help with flotation in the deep stuff and breaking trail. Other than that, I’m very happy with these and plan on getting many seasons out of them.

I tried these for the first time this year as I was needing something more moisture wicking for when I taught my fitness classes. These are amazing! They are so soft and comfortable and definitely wick moisture when I teach.

I was worried about getting an extra small at first but they fit great. Not too tight or baggy at all. I would say they are pretty true to size.

There are practically no visible panty lines when wore with leggings either. This is great because I pretty much live in my exercise clothes.

I have only used these for teaching high intensity fitness classes so far but look forward to purchasing more and using them for camping trips, climbing and other outdoor activties.

I saw these mittens awhile back and loved how soft they felt both on the inside and out. When it was time to replace my old mittens I decided to get these! I am so glad I did. I have worn them 5 times already to go outside in the cold and snow with my two kids. Temperatures ranged from 20 degrees to a nice and warm 32 degrees in the sun and my hands stayed both dry and warm.

The leash one of my favorite parts of this mitten. My previous mittens the way it was set up, the leash was still hanging out partly and could easily get caught (which it did on a ski lift and ripped off). These are great due to the comfortable eslatic band that slips over the wrist and tucks nicely in the mitten; no loose ends!

Another great piece to this mitten is the velcro wrap around the wrist. This is great for keeping excess snow out of your mitten. The velcro allows for easy loosening and tightening.

I will have to say though if I stood still for long periods of time with no acitvity, my hands did start to feel a chill. By long period of time I mean roughly an hour or so. As long as I was moving and playing with my kids they remained toasty warm. These are great for the regular skier, winter hiker, or overall play outside in the snow person!

I would recommend these mittens for sure!

I gave this as a gift and here is what they have to say.

I received this hat as a gift to be used for alpine touring and other cold weather aerobic activities. I like to be able to have my head breathe but keep my ears covered. I usually go with a buff or headband and it works ok, but the sweat in my hair ends up freezing and then the cold sets in.

This beanie does a great job of keeping my ears warm and wicking the sweat from hair while also letting my head breathe. To mirror some of the other reviews, it does look like a swim cap so I’ll give it 5 stars for function and 3 stars for form.

I initially tried these mittens on in the store and loved how soft and comfortable they feel. So far I’ve used them outside in temps around 20F. My hands were just starting to feel a little cold after about 30 minutes so if you are going to be outside for prolonged periods of time without being active, it probably makes sense to step up to something a little thicker/warmer.

However, I’m using this primarily for skiing and for that they work well and are a good balance between bulk and warmth. Overall, for skiing or other activities that keep you moving I think would be a great choice. For extremely cold temps or long periods of inactivity, I would step up to something a little warmer.

I really loved these boots the moment I saw them and put them on. They are very functional and not over the top looking either. They do run big and unfortunately I will have to return mine as my foot was no exception to the rule. I am usually a 6.5 or 7 in shoes and boots so I ordered 7 as I thought the 6.5 would be too tight. I put on the 7 and my foot slid around too much to where they would not be very funcitoncal for me. The liner will stretch with time so sizing down would be best.

The positive size of these is that they feel incredibly warm and comfortable. They are slightly bigger in size but not too clunky. I have insanely cold feet and need a really warm boot but really didn't want to go with a hunting boot. This was a happy medium and I will be trying the 6.5 next. They are cute and functional!

I highly recommend them but be sure to check your foot measurements first for correct sizing.

"I usually like to end a long hike or celebrate a summit with a cold beer. The only downside is lugging cans or bottles up the mountain and then empties back down - which always end up leaking out a bit in my pack if I'm not really careful. This growler was a great solution, keeps everything nicely contained, sealed, and ice cold regardless of the weather. Also prevents freezing up in winter weather. I was also surprised at how light it is given the size."

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
Size Purchased: XXS

We bought this jacket for my 5 year old son to replace his current hand me down. Our 8 year old also has this jacket and it is a year old; still holding together strongly. It definitely gets great use!

This is great jacket for your kiddo who likes to be outside in the cold and wet! It is very warm and has kept both our boys dry on some wet days in the snow. The zipper is very easy for a child to zip up which is great because sometimes the zippers get stuck making it difficult. This jacket is not the case, we have had no issues with a stuck zipper!

The overall durability is wonderful. This coat has held up to being worn many times in the past year by my 8 year old. He wears it daily when going out in the winter, which is a about 6 months. It has also been worn in the summer when camping and temperatures are colder at night. No tears yet and my kiddos are pretty rough on their clothing. They are active boys :)

We bought an XXS for our 5 year old and XS for our 8 year old(at 7 years old.) They both have had room to grow in this jacket. They are not very tall so these sizes were perfect for their build. I would say this jacket fits fairly true to size but you can't go wrong with up sizing either. Laying underneath and room to grow are always a plus!

Great jacket, will buy again when they need the next size!

Fit: Runs large

I bought these boots for my older son when he grew out of the Snowbug style. We have owned these boots for a 2 years and they are worn daily from November to sometimes March or April as my son uses them not only for snowy day hikes but also his daily shoe for school, outings, and more.

I was skeptical at first wit the way they just pull on (the Snowbugs fold over all the way to get the foot in) but they were surprisingly much easier for my son to put on himself. Just pull on and go!

We didn't utilzie the cinch much since we typically put the snow pants or sweat pants right over the boot. This is a great feature though for keeping snow from falling into the top of the boot.

They boots run big but that wasn't an issue because we could use heavier socks and the Velcro feature at the bottom allows you to tighten right at the top part of foot, which prevents slipping. This is great for growing into as well. My son has never had an issue walking in these and they have been great for him keeping his feet down when he walks. The tops are not waterproof but again we have never had an issue of them getting soaked through.

They have held up for 2 winters (10 months approximately) and will be passed down to his little brother for more winter use this year. This is a great boot if you have an active child who loves to be outside all the time.
