Lisa Edlund's Bio

I can't get enough of time spent outdoors. Salt Lake City is the perfect place for this and thankfully this is where my parents raised me, and I currently live. I love getting out in the Wasatch, skiing, hiking, climbing, or just sitting by a mountain stream. Most of the time, I have one or all three of my kids joining me. I love camping, and backpacking all over the Western US but prefer staying in Utah, either the Uinta Mountains, or Southern Utah Redrock. I am an avid backcountry and alpine skier. I taught skiing at a local mountain for 13 years before moving to a desk job here at Backcountry.com

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are necessary for any camping outing. Not only are they great in the snow and sand where stakes pull out and are useless, these also come in handy on variable ground where hammering stakes can be hard. I fill them with rocks to avoid having to deal with the hammer etc.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This is a great fitting and lightweight helmet for skiing and riding. It has limited venting but plenty for warmer days. The ear pads snap off easily as well.

Fit: True to size

I am 5'10 and to this in a large. It is plenty long enough and very roomy. it has adjustable snap sides to give it a more or less fitted look. the floral camo is really nice and does have non floral camo patches in the same places as the hickory color. I am looking forward to getting more use out of this season as the snow piles up.
