Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: Runs large
I was looking forward to receiving these black leggings because I like to walk outdoors and at night, and I was looking for the warmth that they claim to provide. They're constructed with excellent quality, however, the sizing may run large for people. The outside "layer" feels like a soft cotton, while the inside layer has silver, dotted reflective material throughout the entire leggings. It's not exactly a "layer," rather it's the outside and the inside of the actual material. If you buy them too large, they'll sag behind the knees and around the ankles, which is what happened to me, and they won't keep you warm because of the bunching of the material. However, if I had purchased the correct size, these would've been great because I wore them outside today in 30 degree temps in the Boston area and I was toasty warm.
For reference to help you decide on sizing: I'm 5'7" tall and I weigh 130 lbs, and I have an athletic-type body shape. According to the chart provided by Columbia, I should fit nicely into the size Medium, however, I was only in them for a few minutes before I realized they were sagging at the knees and falling off of my hips. It's so annoying when you have to keep tugging at them to keep them up and it's one of my biggest pet peeves when buying leggings, especially when they're $50 a pair. When I first put them on, they felt great, but as soon as I was in and out of the car and walking a short distance, that's when they seemed to really lose their shape. They do come in a pre-packaged box with a sizing chart on it, but I threw it out the minute I first tried them on. I like them so much that I'll probably search around for the size Small at a sale price.
